Ok i have twin pairs of 1gb sticks of ram.

to get optimal performance what dimm slots do i install the ram to?

here is a picture for reference.

Dimm 4 is closest to the CPU it counts up to DIMM 1 @ the top.

I was going to install it in Dimm 2 and Dimm 3

I have major issues with selction because the XP-120 heatsink is HUGE if anything is in dimm 4 the heat sink has to be flipped to fit.

also if im running just a SINGLE stick of ram which slot do i want or does it matteR?

Well, it's either 1+3 or 2+4 to run in 128 bit dual channel mode.

As I write this, I am running MemTest 86 v1.55 on my DFI nf4 Ultra-D with my ram in the orange slots (2+4).

I also have an XP-90 on the board right now and you can install the RAM under the heat sink in DIMM 4 very easily.

DFI says 2+4 is the optimal way 2 go, we shale see!

I think mine are in 1 + 3, and I haven't had any problems. Maybe I should move them to 2 and 4 and see if I get a better OC ;).
