Cutting it close?

My friend wants to use a p4 2.5 with 1.5 gigs of ram and a 6800 gt. How is that gonna be with Oblivion? Should be good no?

of course he'll be fine, it won't run it at 1600x1200 but it should be fine at 1280x1024

If you're running something at 1600x1200, then you shouldn't be running anything at 1280x1024. 1600x1200 is a 4:3 aspect ratio, intended for standard 4:3 CRT monitors. 1280x1024 is a 5:4 resolution, intended for LCD screens. You want 1280x960 for the standard 4:3 aspect ratio.

Why 1280x960 was left out of Doom3 is beyond me... you'd think Carmack of all people would realise this...
