Ok I have a decent Motherboard Asus Formula VI for the AMD platform. currently running a 965 BE in it. Trying to decide if I should go ahead and get the 8350 (new egg has them on sale for 160.00) or get a new motherboard (Z97 chipset) and a new devil canyon processor when they come out in June.

I mostly game on a single monitor 1900x1020, play new and old games. I do like to turn the eye candy up. Other hardware listed below.

Thanks for any suggestions, Ive been real happy with AMD over the years. Its just time for an upgrade and I generally like making one and then riding it for as long as I can.

Asus Formula VI AMD Motherboard
AMD Phenom II 965 BE
Corsair 16 Gig memory
Samsung 830 256 gig SSD
WD 1 TB Black Edition HD
Asus DC OC R9290X Video

Thanks again for suggestions.

Spend the money on a new CPU and board. You've got one of the best modern video cards, and a 7 year old CPU.

If you want to save money buy a used 2500/2600k combo off the forum and overclock it. At 4.4 ghz a 2500k will be a solid 50% more CPU than the one you have now.
