I had a Corsair SP2200 go bad. RMA'd. They said:

(In order to process the replacement, we would need to include a $50.00 upgrade charge.)

We apologize for any inconvenience you have encountered. We look forward hearing from you. Thank you!

Worth it ? I am a little annoyed by the proposition. I just want it fixed without having to pay $$

I'd probably do it, but I'm lazy/easy when it comes to things like this.

I'd probably try to get upgraded for free if you were within warranty, it'd be the right thing for them to do IMO.
