The plexiglass is a good idea. It could get nasty having adhesive facing up to the grill collecting dust.

I think this case has good potential to be quiet and effective with just air cooling. A couple of 120 or 140 intake fans will put a direct air flow on both the CPU (partially at least) and GPU.

It's definitely quiet as I've got it set up right now - I'm think about going from two 120's in front to two 140's, and seeing if that gets it even quieter. Loudest item in my case is the freaking video card when gaming, otherwise, it's barely audible above ambient.

Yeah, I just bought the case with the solid side panel and cut it open. I've never mounted Plexiglas on the outside of a case, so I thought I'd try it out with this one.
