I use XPSP2 and recently I keep getting errors with everything I download
AVG 7.5 beta
webroot demo
WD lifeguard diagnostics for windows (to check for possible bad drive)

all end up in corrupt files! I cannot open/install them! On any drive!
I have a real hard time believing that some cosmic force dragged me to only
poorly made files!

Can someone attempt these files and tell me what you come up with?

yes I logged in as admin to run these!

Do you use a download manager? Have you done a virus scan? Is your memory shaky?

well I ran memtest for 8 hours (i gave up after 8) and if I interpreted it right, passed 11 tests and no errors, gonna look for a driver issue

My wife logged on and while trying to install OpenOffice got a memory error, (I wasn't here so I didn't see error) gonna have to keep looking.

switched over to the marvell adapter from the nvidia one and so far so good, I don't understand how a driver can just go bad all of the sudden.
