I've been trying to sell this computer on ebay for last 2 wks:
Core i7-980x with 12GB Corsair DDR3 2000 MHz and Thermalright Silver Arrow with two fans and 2 x ASUS EAH6970/2DI2S/2GD5 in CrossFireX and ASUS Rampage III Extreme Intel X58 1366 Motherboard and Vertex 2 SSD 240GB and 2 x 1TB Caviar Black HDD and PSU is Corsair CMPSU-850AX; SAMSUNG BLU RAY COMBO DRIVE (SHB083L); LG BH12LS35 Blu-Ray Writer; Razer mouse and lycosa keyboard; all in Corsair 600T Black case; price of $1300 and it didn't sell so I turned it over to auction which ends on 10/5/12 but it stays at $500. Am I so out of touch with reality since new to ebay or are people like professional ebay sellers trying to low ball me into selling it for like $850 and most likely will sell it again at higher price? I need some input from you guys here at hardforum. Thank you. BTW my ID is "leewsmd" on ebay.

i think most people who would buy that system, know that for the same price they can get a decent new rig.

have you looked around at other computers around the same specs and see what they are selling for?

First time to sell the whole computer on ebay and kind of worried how I'm going to ship this baby

This right here would turn me off, as this makes me think if i buy it, it could come damaged

Remove that and first do your research on how you plan to package and ship the item!

Don't use slang, be professional in your wording, do not sound like a 16 year old high school kid FTW!

That is a big chunk to drop on outdated pc gear. I think you'd have better luck parting it out honestly. Having said that I would even be interested in CPU and the Vertex SSD if you do.

This.

CPU would go for $350 by itself, mobo $150, SSD $125, HDDs $125, vid cards $350, PSU $150, case $100, disc drives $75, ram $75, fans/cooling $75.
Thats almost $1600 parted ($1575). Subtract 13% in ebay and paypal fees, looking at $1370, and figure about $125 to ship all the parts, you would total out around $1250.

Bundles, on eBay, tend to go for a lot less than their separate counterparts.

Price checking your computer's components is much more entertaining than the paper I'm writing. You're welcome.

His SSD and graphics card would go for a bit more then $100 and $210.

On eBay, previous auctions end at those prices. A used Vertex 2 240GB typically goes for a little more than $90 + shipping ($90, $92, $100, $100). Used models of the same manufacturer's graphics card go for between $210 and $225, ($180, $212, $265.) The same model from different manufacturers average a selling price of about $190. That brought my suggestion down to $215 + shipping.

Could he make more selling them here on this forum? Due to the high fees associated with eBay and PayPal, he probably would.

Well it depends on which country domain of ebay your talking about. Of course if he is from the States (most likely since H is) then he probably make a bit less money, on the Australian ebay, Vertex 2 240gb's go for $120-130 or so. The 6970's go for $180-220 each. I'm assuming the price for quote 6970's you've listed is the price he should sell both of his 6970's at $210 + shipping total correct?
