can I use an old abit AT7 or KD7 to OC a Barton Mobile 2500xp or 2600xp? thanks

I'm pretty sure you can, but you'd be much better off with almost any nForce2 board. The Shuttle AN35N has good overclocking features and is only $60 at the egg.

The shuttle is a good inexpensive board, also a Biostar M7NCD-Pro is cheap and overclocks as good as any of my Abits(NF-7S and AN-7) cept it lacks on features. ;)

whats the cheapest air cooler for these Mobile cpu's? I'm currently an intel guy and have an SP94 but didn't want to spend that much on this machine. thanks

The cheapest I'd go with is a $15 Thermalright ALX-800 from svc. Has enough cooling potential to get you to 2.4-2.5 without a huge cost.

^^^ Ya. A few reviewers note that this cooler's built in such a way that it needs more cfm's to unleash higher performance. +32cfms or higher.

I concur with the shuttle an35n recommendation. their often up for sale at neweggs refurb section.
