yeah, good point. now that I look at it more, this is apparently for people with extremely short torsos. Alternately, people with long torsos who like massive lumbar support and want their hips and legs unsupported.

LoL, reminds me of a book I read many years ago. Humans just layed in a bed with a screen above their head. They had robots bring food to them and became so weak, the robots had to defend them when attacked by an alien force.
