Centrino 2 laptops! Post 'em if you got 'em.

I've read that it is but the fastest socket P available is a dual core 2.53GHz. It hardly seems worth it.

A quad core 2.53GHz is coming tho.

So will this new quad core chip fit into the 7811FX? Any news when it will be available to order?

We needed some new travel laptops at my job so we went ahead and bought a few of the
E6500 and E6400.

I really wanted to go with the Sager 15" but we have an arrangment with Dell so we really did not have much of a choice. I am a little worried about the NVS 160 video card, will let you guys know how they do once we get them in.

Hey mentok, i think you should be hitting a much higher 3dmark sore than the one your getting, ive seen 8600mgts at nearly 6000 and my 8600m gs at 680/900 with the 169.04 drivers is getting 3500 at 1280x1024, i think u should be hitting around 5000 with that rig!

"Third quarter", so soon. Pricing was just announced today and there's a link on the front page. I still doubt that it's worth the upgrade when you could build a quad core desktop for half the announced pricing.

I swear I saw an Asus, either a G50xxx or M50xxx with the T9400, Fingerprint, TV tuner, Blu-Ray and 500GB that was out of stock and Newegg said that it would be in stock in 9/1, I want that one and enlisted me to be on the Availability alert email, but now I can't find it anymore. Did Newegg stop carrying it or did Asus stop making it? Anybody has any idea? Of those that I can find now (that are both in stock and out of stock) either don't have Fingerprint or TV tuner. I want the one that has both TV tuner, Fingerprint and Blu Ray with 500GB HD. It was listed at $1899 with a $50 discount at that time. Now, it's nowhere to be found.

The only one I see is a G50V-A2:

I don't see a fingerprint reader and the HDD is 400GB with a GeForce 9700M GT

Now, whatever happens to the two (one a 15in. and one a 17in.) that have TV Tuner, Fingerprint and Blu-Ray drive? I want them (one or the other)...

That laptop just got Deactivated (Discontinued, in other words). Newegg is longer carrying it. That is very sad. Now I don't know what to buy anymore. Maybe I might as well forget about laptop.

Got my Lenovo X200 in a few days ago. 64gb SSD is nice. I was surprised how fast this thing is compared to my desktop. Now for DDR3 prices to drop...

My new Dell E6400 is supposed to ship on 9/19. Can't wait to retire my Dell 600m.

How is that X200? I was considering that or the T400. I would prefer a touchpad and optical drive and those are some of my main reasons from steering away from the X200. How easy is it to use without them?

The 2 day Lenovo deal that is running is really tempting. I may pick up one of these badboys.

Edit: I was also considering the E6400, but I have yet to see any real reviews on it. The battery life of T400 with a 9 cell reaches about 10 hours I hear (with it switched to integrated graphics mode). The battery life is key because I want to make sure I have plenty when at school and on the go.

I like it a lot. I can't remember the last time I used an optical drive sans installing the OS. I prefer the trackpoint over the touchpad too myself, so it was a perfect choice for me. Just don't get the 4 cell battery. 64gb SSD rocks too. Question is, do you want something really small or can you settle for something a bit larger? Honestly, it really is a personal preference.

Sounds great, thanks for the quick reply. :)

Okay, I settled for the Asus M50VM-B1....doesn't have the Blu-Ray drive nor the TV Tuner, but it was on sale for $1399 with free shipping so I jumped on it. I know there are other models out there that I like better but the price is much higher as well, so there's always a pros and cons to everything. So far it's working really well for me. The facial recognition login is also a nice touch.
