CDRW's

I've always heard that a CDRW can be written on up to 1,000 times. Here is a link if you have more questions on CDRW's Linkage

1,000 times has always been the number touted for CDRW discs, but about 30-40 times is a much more realistic number. What ends up happening is after so many rewrites you start getting lots of C1 and C2 errors causing really slow reading and writting at best, and data loss at worst. You can only remelt plastic so many times before it simply cant be put into the right shape again

Who's remelting plastic?

CD-Rs and -RWs use light sensitive dye, there is no "remelting of plastic" involved.
