Cant get 5.1 Sound in FEAR, whats wrong??

I am trying to get 5.1 sound to work in FEAR. I just got the game and I have spent about 30 mins trying to get surround sound to work. Does this game just not do 5.1?

I know I have my setup hooked up properly as 5.1 works fine in Half-Life 2.

I'm using the onboard sound on my eVGA NF4 board, (the one that came free with the 7800GT) and the speakers are Logitech X-530's. I have the 5.1 enabled in both the Windows audio utility and through the eVGA utility. I have the eVGA 3.73 audio drivers installed as their site says to use those.

I know its gotta be something simple but I cannot figure out what to do.

Weird... it just worked for me when I used my NF4 onboard audio.
 
I'm trying to figure out why it works in HL2 and not FEAR. I dont know how long I spent looking for a box somewhere to choose a speaker setup.
