BF2 will not launch

After rebuilding my machine I installed BF2 and the 1.3 patch.

After installing I go to launch BF2 and the Splash Screen comes and goes and then nothing. An app belonging to BF2 just sits using all CPU time ~e5.0001.exe is the app. I believe this is a macrovision crap. Any ideas why this is happening and what to do? I reinstalled BF2 once already after using ccleaner to solve this issue.

Delete this folder:
My Documents\Battlefield 2

Reinstall buy installing Game and then the Full version of the latest patch.

I did that.

However what seemed to fix my problem was deleting my profile data. I was saving that, however that was causing the issue.

the profile seems to store hardware info on it and if you change any piece of hardware or even some drivers the game wont start and you need to remake the profile. so from now on when you install new hardware just make a new profile and it should start up fine.
