what is the best oc tool for the 9800 pro? What do I gain when i switch out the stock cooler for, example vga silencer? Thanks, John
 
You would gain quietness and sanity. =) The stock cooler on my 9800np was the loudest fan in my system until I dropped in a vga silencer.

The vga silencer or a zalman heatpipe are good choices for the quiet route. Performance isn't that shabby either.
 
wizzard has one under development that you can find in this forum somewhere, and from what I understand it works well. Another very good option is radclocker, or if you need more options rage3dtweak. I prefer radclocker over rage3d, because it works as a driver tab and is pretty simple. I havent yet used wizzards utility to much of an extent.
