I will be purchasing a socket 939 motherboard for a new athlon 64 3500 setup I will be constructing. What is the best 939 board available right now? This is my first athlon 64 desktop venture.

I'm dealing with the same problem but I have it down to just two mobo's now. The Asus A8V Deluxe and the MSI K8T Neo2-FIR Mobo. As soon as I see a couple more reviews on the MSI mobo i'll make a final decision. But you should take a look at these two mobo's.

Don't forget the Abit 939 board! While getting burned by my K8V-Pro by Abit, I wouldn't recommend them.

Its a toss up between the Asus and Gigabyte. The Asus is a little faster overall, but the Giga has a more voltage friendly bios. Plus the agp\pci lock works on the Giga board, but the Asus is kinda iffy sometimes.

Well I can tell you from my experience with the Asus board, that it is great, no problems what so ever. Plus it has all the cords you will ever need for it. Plus more importantly you can get the Asus for $145
