So I need to upgrade my dad's Crucial 64gb C300 asap as he is out of space on his main drive. I will be upgrading his whole machine at the same time.

What is the best option for a 120+gb SSD for around $200???
The intel X25-m 120gb has a 35 rebate making it $195
The Vertex 2 120gb is $189 after rebate

The cheapest C300 (120gb) is around 280 right now. He doesnt need bleeding edge performance which is why im really considering the Intel drive.
Best reliability, fastest real world controller (4k speeds), and its at a decent price, right?

I am just worried that the "real world" results will be slow with the intel drive because it has such a comparatively low seq read/write compared to the other ssd's

Yes, after making this post I realized how stupid it was.
My dad rarely accesses files larger than 50mb so sequential speeds really dont help him.

Intel G2 it is :)
Thanks for your help Danny, reading that thread only solidifies my impression that Intel's R&D > *

Definitely the Intel out of those three options. I cannot recommend any current-gen Sandforce based SSD controllers in light of this thread here:

I Still say that thread solves nothing other then who has the biggest E-Peen.. My Viewpoint is still the same as it has been.. Most any SSD is freeking fast, so get the ebst $/GB ratio you can afford. This coming from someone who has ran Intel's in raid 0, as a single drive & now a sandforce.. There all fast.
