How can I install the ATI drivers on Slackware 9.1? Slackware does not use .RPM's.

The linux howto does not exist at ATI any longer, or at least didn't yesterday when I set my card up..

EDIT: ATI howto is there... must have had bad luck yesterday!
EDIT 2: It's friggen useless for slackware, though.

Here is a working link with slacky goodness!

It works. It's fast, and damn, it's nice to have working 16x12 in linux again.

The tutorial is a little confusing, though..

Do not use rpm2tgz, it will not work with pkgtool for some reason

rpm2targz works fine, but the file must be placed in / to work properly.

What kernel are you running? What kind of ATI card do you have? I didn't think you needed drivers for ATI cards if you had the 2.6 kernel.
