After using my new build for the last 6 months, I attempted to install a 3rd Hard drive on the Asmedia controller (other 2 are on the Intel 6G Controller). My boot drive is a PCI-e OCZ Z-Drive R4 (CM84-300G). New drive (WD 2TB Black) is fully functional and passes WD extensive diagnostic test. Whenever the new drive or in fact any drive is plugged into the Asmedia controller, the mobo's Bios refuses to recognize the OCZ Z-Drive so the computer will not boot!
Asus tech support thinks that there may be an OCZ F/W conflict with the Asmedia's F.W./bios and has submitted my case to higher level techs for review. But they can not or would not say that it can be fixed with a Bios update and even if it can it would probably be a few months to be resolved.
Has anyone else experienced this problem???
Any guesses to a solution????
