Okay, so I've been HUNTING for GTX670's to SLI my current one. I wanted one Identical to the one I have, and lo and behold I found not only the one I have, but at a really good price.

Before the rebate it totals to about $277 (after the coupon code) which is still an amazing deal. AND it comes with Batman: Arkham Origins. If you like me, planned on getting it anyway, this brings this card to unders $200, which is amazing.

This is a good deal for people who already have a GTX670 and are looking to SLI. GTX760's perform very close, are cheaper usually and may also come with Batman. However once OCing is involved this will likely give the GTX770 a run for it's money.

But for those of us sitting with single GTX670's this is an amazing deal.

Grr, I hate how I get this at work while clicking on Newegg links on HF:

And I won't be home for another couple of hours. And my phone's dead. Why can't the NE links go directly to NE? This is getting retarded.

Or just search for it directly. Here's the NE item number: N82E16814121637

the GTX760 is both cheaper on only about 2-5% slower than the GTX670, if you have a 760 I envy you as a little OC will see it catch up/beat a 670 AND it's easy to find a GTX760 to SLI with for $250 or less. It's tuff having a MidHigh-Tier GPU from previous line, and looking for a card to SLI/CFX with. Went through similar issues hunting down a 5850 to CFX with a year after that came out.

Truth be told, before finding this deal I considered just selling the GTX670 and getting two GTX760s....glad I stumbled across this deal....also BATMAN!!!

GTX760's tend to be cheaper than GTX670s, especially at this point in time. Unlike AMD, you can't use two different cards in mult-card situations. You may ask "Why would you do that?" Well, because it's a nice cheap way to get extra performance. For example, I had a 512 MB Radeon 4870 back in the day, and I wanted extra performance...a 512MB Radeon 4870 was going for $300 while a 4850 was about $170. So I just got a 4850, overclocked to to approximate the performance of a 4870, and I was good.

Same thing with Radeon 5830, 5850, 5870, as well as the Radeon 6790, 6850 6870, and the Recent Radeon 7970, 7950 and 7930 (aka Radeon 7870 Tahiti). In fact, when 7950's were still going for a premium, a $170 Radeon 7930 OC to 1200Mhz at the core, runs pretty close to the 7970, so it's a nice cheap performance upgrade. The big reason they were all cross-compatible was due to using the same chip (Evergreen, Barts, Tahiti using the prior example).

But for some reason nVidia breaks this idea. The GTX660Ti, GTX670, GTX680, GTX760 and the GTX770 are all based on the same GK104 chip, and for some reason nVidia breaks compatibility between them. The GTX680 and GTX770 should absolutely be SLI'able, due to them being virtually identical and the fact that early GTX770's were just GTX680's with reflashed BIOSs. Hell, considering you can CFX a Radeon 7930 and Radeon 7970(both Tahiti based) makes it seem kinda stupid that you can't SLI a GTX 660 Ti and GTX680.

So, I understand why someone would be upset that nVidia breaks cross-compatibility between cards based on the same chip, while AMD cards based on the same chip have no problem working together.
