Looking at the bios list, they had one from march of this year (err...2018), so yeah. Guess I forgot about it. lol

The review is new, if that matters.

Old news, had this board for awhile. Also meme doesn't really apply here, you give up nothing but dropping from 8 to 4 dimm slots, all lanes available etc. It probably can get the best ram speeds because of that, FWIW both of mine are running 4x8 3200C14 ECC.

Meme definitely applies to that X299 ITX monstrosity though.

Review actually shows worse ram speeds, though I don't know how much they tried. Could just be that set of RAM just doesn't work well in that board.

Funny that you call it a "monstrosity"...

For SFF (Small Form Factor) builds, it is the top dog, and since 32GB SODIMM modules are coming available, it may have 128GB RAM support in the future...?

More compromises than a french treaty stuffing X299 into that, a 9700/9900 makes far more sense for an ITX build right now.

Next year for the ultimate portable compute density monster there should be 64 cores available for mATX.
