I've had this problem for a while and just kinda worked around it, but I just can't take it anymore.
I have a areca 1680LP and HP SAS Expander, when transfer files from one array to another I get terrible speeds <10MB/s. If coming across the network, or from a drive on the server that is not on the speeds are fine. But if I move files from one raid to another they just tank and move so slow.
It is also an issue if I use a drive as a Pass-Through Disk on the areca.
My arrays are as follows:
12x500GB Raid5
4x1.5TB Raid5
4x2TB Raid5
Here are the attributes used for all the arrays. http://puu.sh/skCj
And this is the System Configuration for the controller. http://puu.sh/skD3
The areca 1680lp is on firmware 1.48 and the HP SAS Expander is on firmware 2.02, and all of this is installed in a NORCO RPC-4020.
