I have an IBM T40 Thinkpad. When the power cord is plugged in the screen goes dark every 10 seconds, sometimes faster. It doesn't go blank since I can see the outline of the document or website page. When I run on batteries this doesn't happen. I get the screen to turn back on by closing and opening the lid. Ten seconds later it is dark once again. The T40 is not going into standby and Power Options are not set to that option. I don't see any display options settings that might impact this.
My Power Options have not changed and I've even tried resetting them but the same thing keeps happening. I tried another power cord but the same thing happens.
Any ideas?
