How far down can you turn the brightness on those Sony's? I don't need it too dim, as long as it's not blinding bright.
A couple pics of my X800D at min and max brightness. Not a huge difference. How far down can you turn the brightness on those Sony's? I don't need it too dim, as long as it's not blinding bright.
Sony is releasing some new lines, X850F and X800F, this year. Both will have a 43" model.
Same.I'm considering this as a potential from the fence. I keep going back and forth with something like this vs the whole high refresh rate g-sync monitor argument with myself.
I was looking at this before, looks fabulous. But it's PWM.Dell P4317Q....
My brother got one (he's a day trader). The software that comes with it allows pretty cool customization for multiple windows/displays. I'm looking at picking one up when they start to drop in price
Wouldn't it be easier/better just reduce brightness in Nvidia Control Panel?I often do projects around the clock so working nocturnal is frequent where I need to turn the brightness down.
I never had a prob with PWM at 90%, but then I started doing it 50-60% for a few months, then my eyes became very sensitive to light. To make things worse I would then lower it to like 10%. Totally freaked me out for a while until I saw the eye doc and realized what was going on. Back to using just 100% now with a SunsetScreen app which dims pretty decent without looking like an opacity filter.
You can use an app like WinDivvy on a Sony, Samsung, etc. 4K TV to divide the screen into multiple windows. It works well whenever I use it.I often do projects around the clock so working nocturnal is frequent where I need to turn the brightness down.

Was reading a bit how some panels have a faster PWM frequency than others, not sure if that helps.
The Sony looks like a great option, but screens like the Dell and LG that come with those multi window apps are very appealing.
Fantastic, thanksYou can use an app like WinDivvy on a Sony, Samsung, etc. 4K TV to divide the screen into multiple windows. It works well whenever I use it.

Sony 43" X800D (very hard to find) and 43" X800E (still available from Amazon and Crutchfield).
Sony is releasing some new lines, X850F and X800F, this year. Both will have a 43" model.
Not sure when the 850F/800F models will be available, but my hopes were crushed when I learned that we can't get the 43" 850F. Sony is releasing only the 65", 75" and 85" models in the U.S.I've been looking forward to the 43" F models, but I still don't see any. I wonder if they will ever be available?
...I just checked the dates that the X720E and X800E first became available on Amazon, and it was June 13, 2017 and February 10, 2017, respectively. It's not June yet, so I guess there's still hope.
I’ve got both the 800D & E 43s. Absolutely love them both.
I was wondering when an F is releasing.. I guess never? That’s not good!
I mean these 43s have been absolutely wonderful. So easy on the eyes.
