Hey guys

I have two sticks of 512MB Corsair XMS TwinX RAM's, but I'm not sure if they are ECC registered. Will they run fine with A64 3200+?

Most of the A64 boards accept ECC, but it's Unbuffered ECC, not Registered ECC like the A64 FX and Opteron use. However standard Unbuffered DDR should run fine on the A64 platform as long as you do not try and populate all 3 DDR slots at the same time.

You do know that only the AMD 64 FX chips require registered ram and that they don't need to have ECC capabilties to work with the FX.

The Athlon 64 use's just ordinary DDR 1 ram.

I don't know about running 2 sticks and overclocking, however my 256mb stick of XMS3500 is running at 240mhz 2-4-4-4 CMD1.

Hmmm, I did not know that. I was told otherwise... That's the last time I listen to my school's tech office staff!
