I picked up a corsair RM850e and I realized it only has 1 x 8pin and 1 x (6+2)+(6+2)
The asrock 7900 xtx phantom needs 3x 8 pin connections as it requires over 300 watts

1x 8pin = 150

does the cable with 2x (6+2) carry a total of 150 watts or 300?

More like 350 watts unless ya cut down the power to it. My xfx 7900xtx @2750Mhz uses that much on the low bios switch. Btw I really like x's thanks Steve.

It should work fine. Overall, the bottleneck is more likely to be the connector rather than the cable.

Keep in mind that you're also getting 75w from the PCIe slot.

Hi anyone knows where I can buy a 3x 8pin or 1x 8pin cable missing one for my xtx 7900

Quick google search of your PSU shows it's modular, buy two more 8 pin cables and you're all set. Do not use a cable that splits from 1 x 8 pin to 2 x 8 pin to plug in your card. You need three individual 8 pin power connectors. 2+6 pin PCIE cables are the same a 8 pin PCIE. Make sure both of the cables that came with your PSU are labeled PCIE otherwise the power and ground wires may not be correct (particularly if the 8 pin is a 8 pin CPU power cable).
