5900xt still good?

Would o/ced 5900xt beat o/ced 9800pro on Doom3?
How do they compare in 3dmark and farcary?

I wanna get x800pro vivo to run at x800xt speed but if i can't afford it i might get 5900xt or 9800pro instead..

Why not a 6800GT then? 5900XT can OC to an NU/Ultra and in some cases to an 5950U.

If price is an issue then I would go with the 9800pro over the 5900Xt. If you could possibly scrape up another 90-$100 and get a 6800nu then that's what I would do. Also you might wait for some of the 6800LE OEM's to make it into retail as they will probably start around $200 or below.. From the review I saw the LE performs just above 9800pro/5900XT levels.

The 9800PRO is much better with FarCry, and the 5900xt isn't so hot at 3dmark because it is slow with FP32 shaders.

If you can afford an x800pro vivo, you should get a 6800GT, its an all around better card for the same price. In fact, the 6800GT at stock speeds beats the x800xtpe at Doom3 by up to 20%.

If you can't afford a 6800GT, get the 6800 non-ultra. It's $289 and is around 15-30% faster than a 9800XT, will be even faster in Doom3.

i was thinkin of getting 6800nu but x800pro isn't much more n can be modded to x800xt..
