Yep, but I think it was a BMW M3. It's in Season 11 of "Top Gear". Jeremy Clarkson basically concluded that it's not so much the car but how it's driven that is the bigger determining factor of its fuel efficiency.

And yet no matter how daintily I drive the M3.. it will never match the fuel efficiency of the Prius around town, so what the fuck is the point?

The test on Top Gear wasn't around town. It was a Prius flooring it, and an M3 just keeping pace.
