my sister is getting a new camera for her birthday. she wants 10x zoom 3-4 megapixel. we dont like the cameras that use xd only because it is expensive
this is one camera we have been looking at:

canon powershot s1 is
its $320 at buydig.com
cf card
fold out view
3mp

do you have any other suggestions, anything wrong with that one?

I'm not sure why I keep responding to these, requests, since I really don't know that much about this range of cameras, but here goes...

First thing to try is a [H] search for "10x" in this subforum. You'll see that we've talked about a few cameras roughly in that price range with that key zoom figure, including the S1. Here someone was looking at the Olympus C-765 UZ. Here the S1 came up. Here we compared the Kodax DX 6490 and the Minolta DiMAGE Z3. All of these cameras are around your target price and have comparable features; you can see a side-by-side, feature for feature comparison of all of these here.

I think you'll find that the people here really like that S1, though I myself have no opinion on it.
