I recently installed a 4850 video card in my rig and since im not a gamer till recently and in everest sensor readout I see gpu diode disp IO, gpu diode memIO, gpu diode shader......
are these seperate chips on the board..
MemIO runs a few degrees hotter than the other two...
idle temps are 46, 52, 47c ..load i believe was 60, 72, 62,...
I know these run warm but these temps seem ok for a 4850 with this single slot cooler from what ive read...
Oh the temps I mentioned above are running COD mod warefare.....
any info you have on these temp readings would be great....
all other video cards ive had only ever showed 1 temp reading...are these all part of 1 chipset or are there 3 seperate chips with lanes to the video gpu to communicate....
im a temp nut so this stuff bugs me....

On the 4830 and 5850 that iv used:

Temp 1 is GPU core temperature.
Temp 2 is memory temperature (this is normally higher than the other two, sometimes by up to 10oC).
Temp 3 is shader temperature (normally similar to or lower than core temperature in my experience).

The core temperature is the one that is used to set the fan speed by the card.

Those temps sound nice and low for a 4850, MW represents typical to high gaming load depending on level being played.

The ATI CCC will tell you the temp you need to worry about... (FYI: The 4850 is a pretty hot card, especially if its the reference board with stock heatsink.)
