270/270x UNDER $230 watch thread

Good price, I bought 3x of them from TD last week when they were $199.

right now I have 5 saphire 270's on preorder from amazon for $199 a piece but it looks like they aren't offering that preorder anymore. I'll try to get around to undervolting and tweaking those visiontek cards I have. I've been busy trying to get the most out of my 290's though

screw it I just ordered 5 more sets of 2 for those saphires making it easy to cancel and order a specific number of cards

I have been looking as well. I got several PowerColor 270x cards for $199 about a month ago, I miss those prices.

yeah I decided to avoid powercolor... Visiontek has been pretty good to me I have 3 7870's and now 3 270x's from them and they've been pretty solid but running a little warmer than I'd like. All 7870's though have been running hotter than I like though. For that chip single fan just doesn't seem like enough.

I have had to RMA video cards from just about every manufacturer and I gotta admin PowerColor RMA takes FOREVER, about 3-4 weeks. Aside from that I have not not had anymore issues with their cards.

I've experienced that from their RMA's too. Literally shipped it back on the very last day. They said 3-4 weeks and it was the very last of that 4 weeks just to get another one that died on me because the fan was horrible.

Best I've seen is the MSI Gaming 270 for $181 on Amazon a couple weeks ago (posted in the other 270 thread). If you stalk Amazon or even preorder from them, it's the best deal you'll probably find. I've noticed they come in stock MUCH faster than the 290/X cards.

MSI is the same way....3-4 weeks, every time.

Makes me really love XFX. I think the longest I've had them take was 10 days...and that is rare. Usually it takes them no more than a week.

yeah thanks for those 2 MSI's they're pretty nice cards. They are larger than I expected. Amazon preorders tend to ship way faster than what they tell you so expect to one night just see oh we've got them in stock and just charged your cards!

Ha, I thought the 270s were tiny compared to the 290s they are sitting next too. I haven't bought a sub-$400 card since the 5870.

I'm loving how nice and cool these suckers run. My mining room stays around 90F no matter what I do so the big cards need to be spaced out quite a bit.

4x ASUS DC2Ts here, $182 ea. Will add another two for a 6x GPU rig once their prices come down.

just ordered two of the 199 sapphires -- will complete my 5 card 2Mhash rig made up of all 270s.

glad they don't charge till it ships :)

The VisonTek cards I got were defiantly a bust. They are a huge pain in the ass and won't run even slightly above stock speeds. Another weird problem I got tonight was the card WILL NOT run on a riser, either powered or unpowered. I've been fucking with it all night and the best I've seen so far, without crashing, is 450KH/s.

Defiantly want my XFX cards back...

yeah I have 3 of them sitting at 450k also... running fine on USB and ribbon risers. what are you getting on your XFX?

475KH/s with very little fucking with them. I can stick them in almost any rig and set the clocks at 1100/1300. I have a shitload of the XFX cards, I really favor them over the rest so far.

I have a gigabyte and 4 saphire 4gb I haven't undervolted any of those yet

I have like 1 Gigabyte I think and a few Sapphires, they both seem to run ok as well.

The only thing that changes is the TC in the 4 rigs I have XFX cards in. I have no idea why, because I use 4gb of Ram, Win 8.1 and 13.12 Cat drivers in all my rigs.

I built a new rig this week with 5 XFX 270 cards in it on the Asrock BTC board, it likes the TC @15361 for some reason. With the TC@24000, I'd have one card go sick after a few hours, so I changed the TC and it fixed it. 3 weeks ago or so I built another rig with 4 XFX 270's in it on the Gigabyte GA-F2A88X-D3H and it likes TC@24000.

TC of 10241 is my fallback number for all 270's. If I can't get a 270 card running the way I want, you can almost bet setting the TC@10241 will fix it most of the time.

There were some Radeon 265s in stock at GougeEgg last night @149.99 (MSRP) but they went OOS while I was checking out. At that price would certainly be the best kH/$ right now :/

I was able to snag 5 of them before they went OOS, I hope they will hit at least 400kh/s.

I had that problem with two of the six Gigabyte 270A-OC cards I bought. ASIC quality reported at 65% and 66%. They did not like mining above 980 or so.

I have two rigs running 10 (5ea) 7850s and those were all identical config wise. I've noticed a serious deviation in quality card to card with the 270s. Out of 9 running, 3 (33%) do not like risers and/or aggressive mining.

Visiontek 270x @ $210 on amazon: http://www.amazon.com/AMD-Radeon-Vi...F8&qid=1393937798&sr=8-14&keywords=radeon+270

I have 3 of these and they're solid cards with lifetime warranties. I went straight to 450k without tuning but just haven't gotten around to trying to get the other 25k or so out of them.

I have 9 270A's. 6 do 485, the other 3 do 430ish. You should be able to tune those decently. Around 92% efficient.

Sorta off topic, but I figured I'd let you guys know I'm letting go of my 2 XFX 6970s w/ Accelero Coolers for $375. Putting them up in my FS thread.

Dang, that's the goods! In sgminer 4.1, I set my Sapphire 270X to...

-g 2

--lookup-gap 2
--gpu-engine 1130

Just as a note, I just did some testing on one of my cards that kept going sick/dying after a few hours - turns out it was the USB3 PCIe riser card. It finally bit the dust and just gave up, swapped it out. No more issues.

Yeah, I got it from LitecoinTalk I think. It works on a wide range of cards. My 7950 loves it as well. 7850's didn't like them. Still waiting on the 280x's.

I need to test 4.1 again. I was having card issues (see above) with a card going sick, and I rolled back to Kalroth just to be sure. Now that I know it wasn't SGMiner, I can use it again.

Do you undervolt your 270xs at all? I have the same cards undervolted and I cant get those clock speeds, which is probably due to my undervolt. lol.

I've found 1.1v @ 1100/1250 to be a real nice sweet spot for these MSI and Asus 270s. They do not need big ram clocks to pull 465-485khs.

I think it depends on the type of RAM you get. Just like the 290s, Elpida RAM is crap on my MSI 270s. I tried 1100/1250, 19 intensity, 24000 TC, 1 thread and was only getting ~370 hash. Cranked up the memory clock to 1500 and bam, 480 hash. Using sgminer or Kalroth, using 2 threads with 8193 TC, xintensity of 4 and 1135/1500 clocks I can get a solid 490 but I'm still working on stability for other cards. For now I'm using cgminer for 24/7 stability across all cards. I also noticed one of 270s needed lowered to 18 intensity to hash at 472 on cgminer but there is no such issue with xintensity.

I've only got the one 270X, but yeah, I did undervolt it. Stock was crazy high, 1.236V according to the BIOS. I dropped it down to 1.131 and it seems to be pretty happy there. I had it at 1.10V, but it was kind of flaky.

Testing at 1150/1500 right now. So far, so good, and 502 kh/s!

Get 'em while they're hot!

From newegg via eBay:
HIS 270 for $190 shipped: http://www.ebay.com/itm/HIS-iPower-...0-2GB-256-bit-GDDR5-PCI-Express-/301106380130
Sapphire 270 for $200 shipped: http://www.ebay.com/itm/SAPPHIRE-DU...-GDDR5-PCI-Express-3-0-Video-Ca-/291094393705

Up to 5 per customer per card.

Wow, only 15 sold so far. Guess it's a good sign for those of us already mining as it should indicate a scrypt difficulty plateau, but might not be a great sign for the scrypt mining cause in general.

edit: Looks like pretty much all of the 270/270X cards have dropped on newegg's site. If you've got newegg premier or shoprunner, looks like you can get the HIS card for $185 with free shipping.

I'm running nearly the same exact settings but had to run stock volts (1.188v) to get it stable at 1130/1500 (Elpida RAM). Kill-a-Watt shows 360 watts from the wall with only 2 270s on the gold-rated PSU. Seems a smidge high, would like to get it down to 160W from the wall each. My cards don't like 1.100v at 1100, not quite stable.
