anyone know when it'll be released? From their press release in 2003, it seems that it should've been released already.

I'm talking about the 2 platter 200gb native SATA drives.

Thanks

That's the one he's talking about.

Seagate and Samsung prefer to make two-platter IDE drives to keep cost, heat, noise, and failures down, and this model is the first IDE drive to feature 100GB platters.
It appears to perform rather well compared to the previous two platter (160GB) 7200.7. Seeks are slightly slower of course.

It's the most expensive IDE 8MB/200GB drive newegg stocks, but it's also the only one with two platters.

I'm not sure if this is what your talking about but is this the one your talking about? The only seagate 200 GB model I could find I don't know if thats the one but what would the difference be between the one your talking about and that one?

That's not it. :) The one you found is the PATA model.
I'm looking for the SATA model. It supports Native command queuing.

It doesn't seem like it's released yet.., I can't find it anywhere.

The other (80GB/platter) 7200.7 SATA models are supposed to support NCQ.

What you need is a controller that supports it, and the SIIG 3124 is the only one I know of that does at the moment.

edit: 3124 not 3512
