144hz in nVidia surround

A friend of mine for Asus 24 inch 144hz monitors for surround on a gtx 1080. I convinced him to buy three DP to DVI (https://www.amazon.com/StarTech-com...485127184&sr=1-1-catcorr&keywords=DP2DVIMM6BS) cables to take advantage of 144hz.
Got it all connected and setup surround but we only have option for 60hz. Even the setup custom resolution is greyed out.
What am i missing? Any help is appreciated.

His monitors are Asus VG278HV.
I had him test each cable on a single monitor and he was able to setup 144hz on a single monitor using the custom resolution menu. However, once surround is applied he's unable ro do it.

NVsurround can be picky. DP to DVI can also be picky. I think you're going to have a lot of issues with this and should get monitors with native DP.
