what kind of problems will this cause? failed bootups or like unrecognized memory in the bios? also...while in this thread...is there an advantage of having 2gb over 1gb right now? practically speaking. I won't be doing very much video or photo editing, which I know has crazy memory usage.

Is there an advantage to buying a "memory kit" as opposed to buying 2 of the same modules. I'm trying to decide whether to buy a 2gb memory kit or is just 2 x 1gb sticks the same? On the plus side, the 2 x 1gb option is slightly cheaper by 5 or 6 bucks. Good for us college students!!

hey i just got a question about the OCing. how much do you have to raise the voltage in the bios? is the 200x11 very common? i had never heard about that as being common until now.

I think what compslckr is talkin about is that the western digital drives 200gb and above come with a card to override some harddrive size limit that was in the older bios versions of mobos and in older versions of windows. i think it used to be 137gb. i think that limitation is gone in winxp so...

well the ultra will be good in case i'm using a cpu with 400mhz fsb. i'm still debating on the SFF to buy but i'm sure on at least on the video card, which is what this thread was started for. probably will buy a mobile...2500+ with some possible moderate OCing once i'm sure the comp works and all.

From what I remember the socket 754 a64's don't require or don't even accept ECC memory. that's reserved for the socket 940's that use the opteron core. you can use regular unbuffered RAM if you're going to use the sn85g4.
