Follow the guide posted on the Steam forums, which makes use of MKLINK. It is a fairly painless and easy way to split your Steam games up onto different HD's, without the need for any 3rd party software. Here.
I should also mention XBMC supports a huge majority of the slew of codecs you'd ever use out of the box (no installing codec packs or picking and choosing those you'll need). In this respect it's similar to MPC-HC, but they serve different purposes. Also XBMC doesn't take any more setup time...
I'm a big fan of XBMC. The latest builds support DXVA and their interface is very intuitive and easy to setup. I have tried nearly every comparable HTPC front-end and in my opinion XBMC is a tier above the rest.
I would do a little more reading on that. Burn in may be possible on LCDs but the chance of you experiencing it are slim to none. I honestly would not worry about it.
I agree. I believe using any form of EQ is a way of making up for inadequacies in audio equipment. On the other hand, if you are happy with the way it sounds that's all that matters.
Turning off 'enhance pointer precision' should disable any mouse acceleration. Are you saying you notice no difference when the option is selected compared to when it is? If that's the case do you have any mouse/keyboard software installed like SetPoint that could be keeping acceleration on?
Exactly. Microsoft may not be offering it up for download right now, probably because they don't feel they need any more beta testers, but regardless it isn't really going to hurt Microsoft to have a few extra testers who acquire their virus solution through legitimate or illegitimate torrent sites.
If I remember correctly they offered full versions free with the start of the latest release (maybe it was the 64-bit version?). They only gave away a small number for a limited time. Maybe a year or so ago?
The only thing you need is MPC-HC, you shouldn't need anything else at all to play typical videos. To use DXVA with MPC-HC you need to use EVR or EVR Custom under Playback/Output in the options of MPC-HC. To see if MPC-HC is using DXVA press Ctrl+J during video playback and it will tell you if...
I don't understand the complaints about the voice acting. Just like the first I thought the voice acting was very good and there wasn't one voice over in game that made me think "This sounds terrible." To each his own I guess.
Another recommendation to not start. I used to play a lot doing high end raiding, I have even quit twice but have always reactivated my account. The last time I did I vowed to never set foot in a raid instance again. I only log on when a buddy of mine wants to do arena which ends up being a...
I find the bass on my A2's to be adequate. It really just depends on what your expectations are. They definitely are not bassless, but they aren't going to produce bass like a sub would. I listen to movies, games, and music and for all three categories the A2's work and sound great.
I personally love it. It's everything I wish L4D would have been. The hordes of infected aren't nearly as predictable and the variety in mobs is nice. The game environments are awesome too, in variety and visuals. The server I was on was on the easiest mode (which is sort of a joke) but I'm sure...
I have been playing on and off since release. To be honest I'm not a huge fan of WotLK. Our guild cleared Sunwell in BC prior to the many nerfs it received, and raiding so far in LK is just an absolute joke. The only fight even remotely difficult is Sartharion 25 man with 3 drakes up. This all...
Flashing the BIOS will reset everything. Also as a rule of thumb, unless the BIOS update fixes an issue you currently have you should just stick with your current BIOS version. The only other reason you may want to upgrade is a possibility of better OCing potential. Although I haven't heard of...
I own one. It's worth every penny and then some. The instant you take it out of the box you will realize why you dropped $120 bucks on it. The only downside is it is in fact quite loud when typing continuously, but the way it feels when doing it more than makes up for it.
I have never heard of anyone pull a 24-pin power connector from the board, it's soldered on each of those pins. Like the others are saying it helps to wiggle the connector lengthwise while pulling outward from the board.
If you didn't mention the ability to play new games well I would say the HT Omega Claro+ or HT Omega Halo, but since you did I would probably go with the X-Fi (or just use both at the same time and get the best of both worlds ;) ). Now if full EAX support isn't a big deal to you the HT Omega...
I hope you are using a 40 pin IDE cable for your drive, if you are switch to a 80 pin cable (talking about your CD-ROM). I was running into very similar issues with a build and that ended up being the problem.
Edit: Sorry, just glanced at your post and didn't see you tried installing from a...
We always hear about these stories involving WoW or other MMO's. The fact of the matter is there will always be a handful of people who take things to the extreme, whether it be video games or any other hobby.
I did the same thing. My brother has it on the Wii and after playing it I was hooked. Funny thing is I have always thought Guitar Hero was stupid and I didn't see the draw to the game. Now I do :D .
Quick question though, do you get occasional slowdowns (I have had maybe 3 since I started...
Played through a bit of it tonight. Works at widescreen resolutions unstretched and runs great on my system (flawless actually, kudos to Asypr). It does have online play (same as console versions) but you can play only against other PC versions. It is definitely in stereo and sounds great...
I am liking it. It feels different than the first GRAW, but in a good way.
Also to those of you saying how bad of a port GRAW was from the console, you are a little confused. The orginal GRAW for the PC was built from the ground up for the PC. Not a port.
Thanks guys. I saw Rockstar Games Table Tennis and had to pick it up (20 bucks). I have been having a lot of fun with that, probably because I used to play it competitively in college.
I will be sure to pick up some of the titles you guys mentioned in the coming weeks.
Can't wait for the changes to rogues. Would like to know how significant the changes to glancing blows will be, could be a massive boost (not that I need it :P).
