Ok so just testing 3440x1440, and I find it is totally fine for gaming. Can barely notice much difference. Difference is only really noticable in desktop reading text.
Ugh how do you add custom resolutions. Trying to add 3440x1440 to test.
Tried CRU, won't work
Tried Custom resolution in NVCP, greyed out
Tried registry hack NV_Modes, didn't work either
EDIT:
Nevermind, finally got custom res working.
Or maybe, when I get home I will try a 3440x1440 res on my 57" G9 and see if the quality bothers me. Its nearly the same height display as the 39" Oled, so essentially should look similar at the same res yea?
I would not be using DLSS at all if I am using the 3440x1440 display. Because that res is so much easier to drive so I would be using it at native or DLAA. Hence I am comparing here, 7680x2160 with DLSS quality/performance to 3440x1440 @ native or DLAA.
I havent tried running the lower res with...
Would you guys think I would be down grading or sidegrading if i were to pass this monitor on for a new 39" oled panel out now?
I.e. the LG 39Gs95qe or Asus PG39WCDM
I know I would be sacrificing alot of pixel density and brightness for contrast ratio and deeper blacks.
Not sure if it would...
You want the most immersion and you are comparing the 49" vs the 57" NG9.
Ive used both extensively, and there is absolutely no contest against the 57" for immersion. Like another guy here said the 57" will immerse out of your butt because of its dual 32" 4K real estate!
No gaming display...
Yea that could be the issue.
But the overall extremely low brightness levels, just did not look anywhere near vibrant in large tropical scenery areas in HFW, compared to the 57" NG9.
Are you talking about the 57"
If yes, I totally agree! HFW with a bit of reshade tweaking looks bloody gorgeous on my 57".
I went and looked at my friends new 49" Oled G9, and I could not believe how crap (besides the shadows in caves) it looked compared to this 57" NG9. To me, Oled isn't...
Anyone playing Horizon Forebidden West on this monitor. Please tell me all your monitor settings and ingame HDR calibration settings.
BTW, HFW actually looks incredible on this monitor!
So is that video of adjusting Max CLL static tone mapping and target peak luminance only for Cypherpunk 2077 or is that applied to other games aswell? What about Alan Wake 2 HDR?
I really like the light source glowing effect in Cypberpunk from DTM active, it really pops!
EDIT:
Ahh man, i think...
Ok.
So been testing back and forth with active tone mapping vs static in cyberpunk.
Still find it difficult to determine a winner for me.
But I think I will have to go with active tone mapping, because it seems to bring out brighter light sources yet keep good contrast.
But I have to use these...
Your rite, i just played a bit more of cpu intensive games and temps went upto 81°C. But thats in a room with high ambient temps, its a bloody hot day today and I didnt have the A/C running in the room. So I am very satisfied with that result. I know if i run cinebench temps might skyrocket...
Got a question!
Should I use HDR Tone Mapping active or Static when playing HDR games?
I can't tell if I should enable it or not.
Sure it makes the whole image brighter and somewhat seem more vibrant, but I am unsure if it washes out the image or not.
It is a tough one to drive for sure!
But I have successfully completed a few newer AAA games on this monitor with highest settings on my pc, but it more less required some form of tweaking to get running well and smooth enough @ native res.
For example:
Jedi Survivor
Actually looks...
So i got 5120x2160 working on the monitor. Works well, Blbut I feel like its too much space sacrificed on the sides.
Is there a middle ground between 5120 and the native 7680 that I can try?

Just dropped adaptive offset to -0.09v.
Temps are getting better.
Hwinfo still says I am reaching 6Ghz, ingame reports constant 5.7ghz in Alan Wake 2.
Max temps now mid-high 70s°C.
Getting much better. Going to continue playing around.
I havent even touched LLC yet, i think that may help...
Tbh i am not sure why i used it lol
I just thought if i do use it, that it may automatically download and install all the chipset and motherboard etc drivers for me. Because when I was browsing the Z690 STRIX-E download page, there was so many different drivers, all with similar names n stuff...
Yes sorry forgot to update thread.
Had to limit power 253W pl2/pl1
Added adaptive offset of -0.07v so far.
UPDATED:
Disabled HT
Disabled intel enhanced turbo
So far this results pretty good.
Stable
Max temps 84°C with most cores in the 70°C under gaming load.
Stille gets to 5.7 most cores...
Asus new 39" OLED monitor is releasing this year.
It has 3440x1440 resolution.
Does anyone know what ppi that will work out to be?

Just realised the intel chipset driver on armoury crate was not the latest one listed on the asus website. But all the other drivers from the armoury crate were up to date as per asus website.
So I proceed to install the latest intel chipset driver from asus website, and the screen goes blank...
Thank you I will check that out, but I am just wondering, doesn't armoury crate install all the intel/asus drivers for you?
I just did a fresh/clean windows install, and this time installed armoury crate and downloaded a bunch of drivers/updates from the app. Would that make mine up to date or...
Well after all the shenanigans, I found out by reports from other people, that DLSS FG + Ray Reconstruction is bugged in CP2077 post 2.1 update, causing the major GPU Usage drop.
Strangely, Frame Gen + Ray Reconstruction is not bugged in Alan Wake 2 though.
So if i use armoury crate to install all the drivers etc.
Can I uninstall the armoury crate after and all the drivers will remain intact, or does it also uninstall all the drivers that armoury crate installed for you?
Great, after a few hours of gaming today the pc started to run extremly slow and sluggish, i mean painfully slow and sluggish. I can barely watch a youtube video now.
I don't know what happend.
I didn't change any other settings. It just happend out of the blue. I am going to rma this chip, I...
Yes thats what I thought, my Vcore is very high. Reading around the web, it seems some suggest the max safe voltage for aio cooling is 1.4 - 1.45v for 14900K. Maybe my Asus MB assumed the default required Vcore is 1.467v. Seems a bit high for only 5.7Ghz, although my CPU did boost to 6GHz...
1. Balanced
2. Havent checked MCE and intel default limits.
3. Havent tried xmpII yet.
All i tried today was cmos reset via battery remove and power cycling unplugged for a few minutes.
Re-applied thermal paste. I have made sure cpu fan profile is on turbo mode, not full (too loud), and cpu...
Z690 STRIX E Owner here.
Just changed from 12900K to 14900K on the above MB. Did the latest BIOS (3101) update before hand, and hit the CMOS reset button on back of MB after new CPU installed.
Strange things happen.
1. New 14900K CPU seems to be locked at 5677MHz in Windows, AB reports 5677MHz...
Well I just upgraded from 12900K to 14900K on exact same system, and FG issue still happens!
Once FG is enabled in CP2077, GPU usgae is dropped by 20-25% resulting in nearly same fps as no FG where 100% GPU is used.
So can't be a cpu bottleneck!
Has to be game or dlss bug
EDIT:
I tried Dying...
Interesting.
Do you think that means there is a CPU bottleneck, or just a DLSS FG bug?
Why does GPU usage drop to 80% when DLSS FG is enabled.
It basically means that enabling FG is utterly pointless and countereffective for me.
Because if FG is enabled I can get say
60fps, but after a few...
