NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Fellow enthousiasts! My ncase build is finally in a working state, but the GPU is making way too much noise for my likings. I've got a Gigabyte RTX 2080 Windforce and the temps ramp up to 76 max with the fans running at 75%. I've been looking at the cooler for a long time and came across the...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I’ve actually already managed to mount two 140mm fans bellow the gpu see my post with picture above. It’s a Gigabyte rtx 2080 windforce with two TY147’s beneath it. I’ll start with mounting my cpu cooler and all the other intake/exhaust fans and see how my overal temps will be. If needed I’ll...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Isn't cooling the VRAM's quite important? The whole issue with previous gen there were all those EVGA gpu's which had bad cooling on the VRAM which caused all of em to go dead. But the the #3 is the one to go for? I can't live with the brown noctua's! Setup I have planned is a 150mm Noctua...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Im currently thinking about getting the Arctic Accelero GPU cooler for my build. Currently under load (only tested on DOOM so far) my GPU reaches a max temp of 74 degrees . The GPU I've got is the Gigabyte RTX 2080 Windforce and I actually managed to place two Thermalright TY147's below the GPU...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Apologies, I wasn't clear at all. I've got a corsair SF450 PSU that has a really long power cable for sata stuff, I think I can attach 4 drives or something. However, the way that each power connector is connected to each other makes it impossible/hard to connect both SSD's, because the cables...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I've just picked up completing my build again with all of my (now) outdated components, but I have a few questions. 1. What do people use to power two SSD's that are mounted on the front of the case (2 ssd's on top of each other). The second question is regarding controlling all the fans in my...

Project Omni - Ncase M1 [Build Log]

Update 2017-02-12 Sleeving! It has a been a really long time since I've actually sleeved cables and I had completely forgotten how much work it actually is. However, the longer you're doing it the easier it becomes. When I was sleeving the last cables it was actually easy peasy. Have to say...

Sorry, don't have a lot of time and I still needed to sleeve my cables :D Sleeving is done now, so next step is actually going to be the final install.

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Damn I still need to test my Xtreme Gaming card. I had a defect one at first too, could not even get it into the case. Hope the one I currently have is good one, if not I have to completely disassemble my rig...

Project Omni - Ncase M1 [Build Log]

Thanks! I'm using a Canon EOS 600D with a Sigma AF 17-70mm lens. Try to do my best making some good pictures, but I know I could still do a lot better. Also I have to work with awful lighting... Hahahaha, yeah it is freakingly big compared to the case :D In general I'm concerned about all...

Project Omni - Ncase M1 [Build Log]

Update 2017-01-24 1070 Xtreme Gaming - Is it gonna fit  I have to say that this GPU is a thing of beauty. It's enormous, build quality looks and feels great and I can't wait to fire this thing up. The GPU itself weighs more that the disassembled case I think  Hope it's gonna...

Project Omni - Ncase M1 [Build Log]

Update 2017-01-20 Initial installation Started installing the first basic easy parts onto the motherboard for this build and made some detail shots of my good looking components. Funny enough it has been a while ago that I built a PC myself, so I completely forgot that I could...

Project Omni - Ncase M1 [Build Log]

Update 2017-01-08 Updated component list, check 1st post After spending hours on different cooling possibilities in this case I have decided on going full air cooled. I think an completely air cooled system is more silent then using plug and play AIO coolers. Of course, doing a correct custom...

Project Omni - Ncase M1 [Build Log]

Project Omni I've had an enormous case for way too long now: EATX form factor with an old GTX580. It's time for me to update my system. I've taken on the challenge to stuff as much powerful hardware (as I can afford at the moment) in the smallest case as possible. This is why I've chose the...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Started building my pc and I've reached the stage where I'm starting with sleeving my PSU cables etc. However, I just noticed that I can mount the PSU with the intake fan at the back of the case, or with the intake fan facing inwards to the case. The PSU will intake air from inside the case...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Thanks! Yeah, I was surprised as well how quick Amazon provided me with a new one. Think they used high priority service to give me a new one. Will keep you guys updated on the build. Was planning to create a dedicated thread for the build with some better pictures ;)

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

For those interested, the Gigabyte GTX 1070 Xtreme Gaming Fits like a glove. With Glove I mean that the card couldn't have a mm taller and once the GPU is installed, you can't reach anything anymore below the GPU. Ofc, two 25mm thick fans will not fit beneath the GPU anymore, slim fans might fit...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Yeah I still have no idea how this could have happened.... bad quality control I guess... True that :) If I really needed the card asap, I could have taken a look into how to fix it. However, I think it was a bad assembled card in more ways than just the cooler shroud. Lots of scratches and...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I really have no idea how its even possible... also the pcb part where the case of the cooler (its metal btw, not plastic so its not possible to bent) is touching the pcie slot, is forcing the pcb to bent downwards. Great quality control from Gigabyte. Anyway, asked a replacement from Amazon. I...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

God fucking damn it. I've just received my Gigabyte GTX 1070 Xtreme gaming and I've gotten one that I need to RMA. They've completely fucked up or something with placing the cooler on my one. As you can see on the following image, the case of the cooler overlaps the actual PCI-E slow of the...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Think it might be the Cryorig C1, or some of noctua's smaller tower coolers (U9s i.e.). I was able to score a Noctua NH-C12P and I'll be using it with a bigass 140mm fan. Think the performance will come close to the C14. Apart from air coolers ppl are using AIO's a lot as well.

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I've actually ordered the Gigabyte GTX 1070 Xtreme Gaming, I personally think it'll fit as only the middle part of the GPU is taller than with the Strix. Also, someone wrote in the parts compatability list that the 1070 fits, but the fit is tight. Anyway, I'm receiving my 1070 next week and...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I did ;) Strix is 100% compatible, think the Xtreme gaming is a really tight fit but it should be compatible. Power connectors on pcb are lowered, and its only the middle part that is 140mm. Plus someone said in that list in 1st post it fits with sfx psu! But choice for CPU cooler is killing...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

What would you guys prefer for CPU cooling? I've just decided I'm going to purchase an open air GPU (either Asus Strix or Gigabyte Xtreme Gaming). - First option is to use an 240mm liquid cooler from Be Quiet, the Silent Loop 240. - Second option would be an air cooler like the Noctua NH-U9s or...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Awesome build man :) Are you able to still do an OC with that PSU? Good to see that the sf450 can already manage an i7 6700K and 1080, but I'm wondering if I should go with the sf600 when I'd like to OC my 6700K and 1070.

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

What kind of CPU and GPU you have at that time - and were the OC'ed? did you also have your fan settings on low noise or they were spinning 100%? Sorry for all the questions, but your build looks so similar to what I'm trying to achieve I'm really interested in the specs :D

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Guys I have decided on my build somewhat, and I'll be using a 1070 hybrid GPU. Now I'm having a really hard time deciding what CPU cooler is best. Initially I was looking at the Noctua NH-C12P, but this way my case has no exhaust fans. Both the fan of the radiator on the hybrid as the fan for...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

According to the spreadsheet the Noctua NH-L12 should fit on the Asus Z170i Pro Gaming with the heat pipes pointing upwards. Does it matter btw if it's mounted with the heat pipes point upwards, according to Noctua this is not the correct positioning of the CPU Cooler? Also there is only 1...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

I've checked at your build log several times already :) Looks really good! Would you prefer your cooler over the NH-U9b? I also have no idea, I think it depends on how the CPU cooler is positioned. Think I'm going to do some further investigation. If someone has experience with the NH-C12...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Thanks for your reply :) Looking into some reviews right now, but the only things thats bothering me (as with all noctua products) is the color of their fans. Thinking about getting the NH-U9S and replacing the noctua fans with be quiet silent wings 2's. Gonna look now if their 92mm fans perform...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

What kinda of CPU cooler can you recommend me to combine with an EVGA hybrid GPU? I need space on the side panel for mounting the radiator + fan of the GPU and don't see any of my initial CPU coolers options still work. - Noctua NH C14 -> won't work with my mobo (asus Z170I) nor with the GPU...

NCASE M1: a crowdfunded Mini-ITX case (updates in first post)

Thanks man :) Think Im just gonna pill the trigger and order the Phantek :) C14 is too expensive here and too much of a hassle. I prefer the phantek with two 140mm fans over the C14 with two 120mm. Next questions! 1. I go with the phanteks, will there be enough room in the HDD bracket area to...
