I'm really looking forward to another Ace Combat game. What I'd really like to see is another Crimson Skies game. It was such an awesome alternate history with really fun game play on the original XBox. Probably one of my favorite games.
Do they even make shims that fit newer CPUS? I remember they were pretty popular back in the Athlon Socket A days. I'd feel more comfortable having a wider flat surface for a heat sink to contact than a smaller core that can get cracked when tightening it down.
I just installed a BX100 500GB in a Dell N5050 laptop (3 years old) a few weeks ago. It's a nice drive with a good price. No complaints from the owner.
I wouldn't hesitate to install any Crucial SSD in one of my PCs. The BX100 series is a little cheaper than the MX100 and 200 without sacrificing...
You can't go wrong with Monoprice studio monitor speakers. They carry three different sizes - 5 inch, 8 inch and 10 inch. I've had the 5 inch monitors for 3 years and they sound amazing. They competed extremely well against M-Audio BX5s a few years ago.
The 5 inch speakers go for $170 a pair on...
Moffett Air Field has some very cool history. Hangar One once housed the US Army airship USS Macon, which carried a parasitic Sparrowhawk biplane fighter. They've been attempting to renovate Hangar One for quite some time now and it looks awesome in the old 1930s photos.
Also I think Myth...
2001 first PC build all from Newegg:
AMD Athlon 1333 T-bird, Epox 8KHA motherboard (VIA chipset), 256MB DDR, 40GB IBM "Deathstar" HD (developed click of death and died), GeForce 2 Pro 64MB AGP video card, Philips Acoustic Edge sound card, Enlight case that I later modded the bejesus out of.
With modern PCs, you're pretty much limited to the USB-MIDI interfaces. I've had a good run with my Emu 1x1 for several years. It works flawlessly with all the outboard gear in my sig. One MIDI in and one out is all you really need. You can always add a MIDI thru box later if you need more...
I'm interested in a 104 (not tenkeyless) mechanical keyboard with MX black switches. Doesn't need any backlighting or macro keys. Basic is better, but I wouldn't be against the backlighting.
You might want to consider the Monoprice 605500 5 inch monitor speakers. They stack up really well to the M-Audio BX5s for much less coin. The technical specs are identical. I bought a set a few weeks ago for less than $200 shipped for my home studio set up. They are very well made, balanced...
G500 for the same reasons stated by squeakyl. The scroll wheel has a nice solid weighted feel to it when spinning freely. Click the button under it and you get a precise racketed scrolling option. If there's a better all around mouse, I haven't tried it yet.
Glad you enjoy the Cherry brown switches.
I just got a Rosewill RK-9000BR and couldnt be happier.
It really is a huge improvement over a generic keyboard. Better typing feel and response.

I'm looking for a video card to replace my XFX GTX 285 that just went out to pasture.
Even with my Q6600 overclocked to 3.4GHz, I realize it's past its prime.
Hoping to find a good replacement card, either a side-grade or upgrade from my old card for close to $100 used.
Cards I am...
That is one good lookin' set up! Gotta love that yellow/orange glow when the old Pioneer receivers are turned on. The sound is even better. :cool:Not trying to thread jack, but here's a shot of my Pioneer SX-850. Sorry for the crappy photo.

For me the best is my current Foxconn P35A. Yes, it's scandalous  but a great overclocker!
2nd place is Abit AN7, still running an Athlon XP 2500+ Barton.
Worst is probably the MSI KT3 Ultra2 that was a cranky ol' crooner.
My first Epox mobo with Athlon 1333 was pretty weak, too.
Very nice! Many people think old audio equipment like your Pioneer "looks pretty" but is somehow obsolete. Lots of modern gear can't hold a candle to the PERFORMANCE of older receivers from the '70s and early '80s. Substance AND style is what they are missing out on  Very nice setup. I...
In medieval times, you'd be called a witch or sorcerer. No thank you, I would not want to be locked up in the lord's dungeon or put on public display in a pillory.
I've been using MIUI on my Moto Droid for a few months now. At 1.8.26 right now, rock solid and very quick. It's a little different, kinda iPhone-like because apps each have their own icon on the home screens. There is no app drawer by default. On the plus side, it uses folders. You can create...
Your WRT54G v2 will run both Tomato and DD-WRT. Both will give you more/better features and stability than the stock firmware. I've tried both and keep coming back to Tomato: simple GUI, huge feature set and rock solid. At least it will give you food for thought as you contemplate buying a...
Here's my newest IT resume. I have lots of "hobbyist" type experience 10+ years, but the only professional experience I have is from an internship I recently finished. I've spent the last 2 years working my way through school to a new career in IT, hoping to get into computer networking. Could...
If you live in the central PA area, check out the state surplus warehouse in Harrisburg. I got a Dell Pentium D system (1GB RAM) w/ LCD panel for $80. They also have loads of Intel Server 10/100 NICs for $1 each! Currently have one core turned off, running pfSense on it flawlessly. My installed...
My Athlon XP 2500+ Barton oced@ 3200+ served me well for a solid 4 years. It still lives on as a Frankenstein test bed for different things. Also love my current [email protected]. Yes it is "old" but still holds its own. I like to get a feel for the best bang for the buck CPUs that will hold their own...
The AKG K240 was originally made in 1975. I have a set of the original K240 "Sextett" that uses passive radiators instead of more traditional voice coils. I bartered them at a price of $20 from a dude with about three teeth in his mouth at a flea market. IMO they sound better than the later...
What a blow hard. With an over-the-top statement like "Make sure there are no incursions. Be litigious. Sue everybody," it just sounds like he's trying to protect the KISS dynasty and milk us for all we're worth. Simmons lived the rock n' roll dream and still wants more? His new attitude totally...
Just got mine today. It looks totally flawless and works perfectly. It's replacing my Antec Earthwatts 500w psu that was still running fine. This just gives me more leg room and bragging rights :)
For that kind of setup, it probably will not make a difference. The main issue with UTP network cabling is running it in a permanent installation (in walls, plenum above suspended ceiling) alongside power wires and fluorescent lighting ballasts. Wiring in in walls and ceilings is much beefier...
I'm running Sapphire 1.1.0 on my Droid with 928Droid Black Glass theme. Looks awesome. Sapphire is built from source and there's versions for other phones as well: HTC Incredible (Ruby), and HTC Evo 4G (Emerald). Blazingly fast with the 1000MHz LV kernel. http://wiki.ccroms.net/
Just scored Dirt2 and the Lucas Arts Adventure pack. That includes Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, LOOM, and The Dig. 5 games for 11 bucks is a slammin' deal  I loved the Fate of Atlantis as a kid, awesome game!
Mine also shipped USPS. They snuck in an extra $1.00 charge separate from the price shown on the invoice, as a second transaction. Check your bank account statement. I sent customer service an email asking if it was standard policy to charge customers an extra amount not shown on the invoice. I...
Foxconn makes many OEM boards and supplies parts to several manufacturers. I'm running a Foxconn F35A motherboard that has my Q6600 completely stable at 3.4GHz. No qualms with their products here!
