Ok, so it works and sometimes it doesn't. It's almost like a driver is glitching maybe? For example, I was playing music in VLC. I opened up Audition to do some work. Didn't notice if all speakers were in use. But when I closed it and went back to my music, I noticed it went back to 2.0 instead...
OMG, after trying more things, I randomly updated some audio driver. Nothing said anything needed updating, but I saw the date was a few years old and there was a button to update it and after Windows restarted IT WORKED!!! I've been stuck with one speaker music for YEARS. It's still weird it...
I have a Genius SW-G5.1
I'm using PotPlayer64 and also VLC
I USED to be able to play music through at least two speakers plus the subwoofer.
VLC stopped after an update and I tried multiple players and found PotPlayer64 could do it.
Then more updates later and now I can't figure out how to make...
Ok, the CPU upgrade while technically is an upgrade doesn't seem to provide a big boost to money ratio. Would this be an agreeable statement or would I see a visible increase with editing/rendering speeds?
I definitely want to get more ram. It's always nearly maxing out when Iedit. 64GB's...
HI. I have recently gotten back into video editing. I've been playing games at 1440p with no problem for 90% of the games I've played at max or near max settings. Now, I'm video editing and WOW has it taken a toll on my computer. I am still using the same PC that you guys helped me build WAY...
So you know those promotional company freebies and giveaways that have the company brand on them? I'm looking for a good quality bluetooth speaker that can be bought in bulk and branded with a logo.
Has anyone noticed at least a decent speaker that you got from a company promotion? Yah I know...
All speed tests except the cellphone are WIRED. The only device tested that was WIFI was the phone.
Still poking around the router settings, but I did find a status for my main computer stating: "Connection Speed - 1000Mbps fullduplex". Not sure what it means, but seems like it is set to deliver...
Yes, all but the cellphone have a wired connection. Have not checked on QOS settings. Not sure how to either, but I'll investigate and see if anything is off. I was using different sites because fast.com was what my job IT guy said to use when testing my work computer provided by them. I just...

Hi. I have a work computer provided to me by my work and I would like to buy a new mouse. We are using an IGEL computer and they said it doesn't play nice with bluetooth so we must use a wired keyboard and mouse. I would like to find a wired mouse with a thumb or side wheel as well as the normal...
How do I know what limits this motherboard has for memory? If it'll let me go up to a certain speed or capacity then why not take advantage of it. It's old and I gotta take advantage of all the "upgrades", as small as they may be, I can give it.
I don't mind spending the small amount of money to add more memory and storage. Super budget memory and storage would be just fine. That PC was mainly about cloud storage anyways. Not many ppl messed with cloud stuff at that time. Anyways, I can find a use for this small laptop and doing surgery...
Hello. I found my old and barely used Asus Eee PC 1015PE. The monitor doesn't work. I'm trying to repair or replace the issue. Might have to source a replacement part from eBay. While doing exploratory surgery on the laptop, I noticed I could upgrade the memory and hard drive quite easily. I...
I've got the Asus PG279Q. Just fine for the 1080p gaming, and when she upgrades some parts it'll still be great for 1440p gaming.
I'm just picking parts now. Have not researched alternative places to buy parts at a lower price. I can already see some parts on my list are overpriced on...
The $2k is where I am now. That includes a pricey monitor that will STILL be great when she upgrades the PC down the road. It's $636. Also got priced in the budget mouse/keyboard, OS, extra RGB fans, speakers, and headphones (since I work from home). These non-tyoical items mentioned in builds...
Which is discontinued? Don't know much about the new Zen 2? Should I even be looking at that if I'm building a more budget pc for 1080p/1440p gaming?
Oh, this should be moved. Initially clicked the right topic, then got sidetracked and forgot I changed topic. LoL
Been about 4 years since MY build, but this time I'm planning a build for my wife. First home built pc for her. Going to teach her all bout it.
Doing a budget build. Trying to keep it at $2k or less. Starting from scratch build. Monitor, keyboard mouse, everything included in the budget...
My girlfriend likes games. She kinda new to them. She's HUGE into Sims 4 Previously played Sims 3 a lot. Just bought her Planet Coaster because she loves rollercoasters and it has a Sims vibe to it too. She's played a couple other games in the pas but can't remember the names to them.
Curious...
A friend missed my birthday. She's so busted. I took a pic of her passed out while watching a movie with me. Have as much fun with this as you like. No limits. Dirty or not. Bwahahahaha.......
Have a device that stores data internally
Can only connect to it through wifi
No direct access to internal storage
Any idea how I can recover a file I accidentally deleted?
I need something like Recuva that can access a device via IP address
Ok, how about this. Is there a program where I can simply plug in an external hard drive and it will auto-sync select folders that I want to backup? Maybe plug it in before I go to sleep and wake up to everything backed up in the morning.
What do you mean? I can't add an SSD to my PC and give...
Not too knowledgeable with raid levels, but for SSD's, can I do a couple+ SSD's to expand and then get a massive HDD to mirror it in case an SSD fails?
Can that be a thing? Must the backup HDD be as fast as the SSD or will it slow the whole thing down since SSD's are obviously faster than an...
Have Samsung 850 Pro 512GB SSD
Need more GB's
Is it better to replace with a bigger SSD or is there any performance hit if I add an SSD?
If I add, must it be same make/model or will any SSD be fine?
For example, there's a Samsung 850 EVO in a Black Friday ad from Dell.com that I'm interested...
Have Rise of the Tomb Raider

PC connected via max WiFi signal
Can play other online games just fine
Playing through Steam

Any tips?
Speaker sub has Bass/Volume
Realtek HD mobo app (Sonic Studio II) has Equalizer/Bass Boost/Reverb/ Smart EQ/Voice Clarity settings
Windows has Volume settings

What Volume% setting should I have everything set at and what should the mainly be controlling my music from...
Yeah, didn't want to run at all. It did the little scrolly thing when it opens, but then doesn't open. I remembered that it came with a MOBO CD so I used that and then did updates.
I used the wrong screw things and the CPU heatsink thumb screw things didn't fit and I had to start over on the thermal paste. I bought the paste as a backup. Good thing I did cause I know I shouldn't try resetting the heatsink by lifting up and trying again.
Never used this kind of keyboard...
Have Windows Pro 10
Fresh install
Downloaded drivers
Can't run Asus Maximus VIII Hero Alpha driver programs
Asks if I want to run as Admin, but still won't work
Maybe I am trying to install something out of order
What are the essentials?
Asus lists a lot of DL's for this mobo
What am I doing wrong?
Still working on it. Got half way and got tired so went to sleep for a few. Everything is hooked up but the monitor and some wiring.
I noticed that one of the fins on the GPU is loose. Nothing that will kill it I don't think, but should I do something about it? It looks like the connector that...
