Upgraded my Sapphire Nitro + 6800 XT to a Red Devil 6900 XT Ultimate for $50

Yep just like motherboards. I've bought several open box items from them. They have a test bench in store if they don't find a problem with it then it will likely be put back up for sale with a yellow sticker on it. I'm not sure what the exact process is but I do know they sell all manor of...
You have 30 days so open it decide which one you want to keep then return or sell the other one. If you return it opened someone else gets it for a slight discount. Win Win Microcenter makes money either way.
I bet they don't have any. Their inventory system is not accurate. If it says they have 10 or more you have a good chance of finding one on the shelf. The day I got the Red Devil it wasn't showing any in stock on line.
Well like said in the first place I only paid a little over $500 out of pocket. So no biggie but I probably wouldn't have bought it if I had to pay the full price. Besides it's gone to a good home courtesy of ebay.
And no I didn't charge scalper prices. I just about broke even with MSRP after...
Yes there's fans the case will actually fit upto a 320mm card with 140mm fans installed in the front. I actually tested this recently with the Powercolor Red Devil 6800 XT. It fit with maybe 2mm worth of clearance from the fans. I took some more pictures for you.
@IKV1476 You lucky bastard!
I don't know about the bent fins mine are a little off I guess but you really can't tell unless you're looking for it or taking high res pics,
I wanted the Powercolor but I ended up with a Sapphire Nitro + SE the bling factor is on point if your an RGB fan. It's also a beast of a card and runs pretty damn cool for how much it ways. It's definitely a lot lighter than some of the other cards.
I got a Nitro + SE but I wanted a 6900. So far it's a pretty decent card although it is a behemoth! I think it was worried it wouldn't fit in my Corsair Crystal 280x case but it fit no problem! Even has about a 1/2 in. left!
Man I tried my best to get a 6900 XT but only managed to score a 6800 XT instead. The microcenter drops are very hit and miss but that was my best option. I was first in line got in the store and all they had was 6800's that day. 😑
Baby Mama picked up my 5800x just moments ago from Microcenter. In case anyone is looking for one they have a few in stock at the Madison Heights store in MI.
Welp I'm done, I'm not gonna pay a premium for one of those cards. If I can't get a reference card next in a few months I'll just make due. Fuck that noise.
Yet it's ok for Nvidia to gouge you with the ridiculous $1500 RTX 3090? Why because it has more CU but only 10% performance over RTX 3080. No one should be buying these ripoff items form either company. Consumers have the ultimate power, if we don't buy the prices come down.
There's no room for a 3080Ti. 3090 is only about 10% faster than 3080 in most games. How many morons are going to go out and buy 3080Ti at 5% performance uplift just to get double the ram?????
You want bigger buy bigger. My Korean 1440p monitor sure looks great though and I upgraded from a 25.6" 1200p Asus. 1080p at 27" just doesn't look right to me but if that's what you want then you should go for it.
I see your point but most games are not optimized for quads and by the time they are most of us will be on to a different cpu anyways. But if he is planning on keeping the system for a few years then yes, a quad would be the better choice. I'd recommend a Phenom II or Q9550 or better.
You don't want the voltage to go above 1.4v for any extent of time, if you do you could be slowly killing your cpu and not even know it till it's too late.
If you don't know how to overclock you should do some reading before you kill something.
You set the voltage in the bios and don't even think about overclocking with your voltage set to auto, that will surely result in your cpu being overvolted and maybe dying prematurely.
I hope these things can hit 1ghz OC on a regular basis, cause if they can I'm getting one for sure! I'm an overclocker damnit and products like this are great in my opinion. I wish we could get em to tweak the designs for overclockers from day 1.
Distilled water is all I use with a few drops of highlighter to make the water glow under UV. I've run my loop for six months with no problems, just the tubing gets cloudy after a few months. I haven't had any issues with algae particles in the tubing that you get when using dyes.
