They most likely bought it brand new and it came with it.
My new Corsair MP510 960GB came with ECFM22.5 and using the corsair toolbox it shows both 12.3 (my older MP510) and 22.5 (new MP510) as the "latest" without any new updates.
Apparently there is ECFM22.5 floating around, Corsair last month said it was a bug with the updater but some people have uploaded on userbench that show the 22.5.
The one from Phison works with all but I havent tried it, I heard it made some performance lower but I'm not too sure.

I'd probably backup was well, could be destructive.

These are back in stock for those who want the 5 year/1700TWB (60,000miles/powertrain/engine:LOL:) warranty.
Not the better deal in terms of price ($149.99 USD) but you have that name brand/warranty/piece of mind etc... (if...
Oh thanks man! I appreciate it!
I might just go with the Corsair MP510 or the BPX Pro when it comes in stock just for the 5 year warranty/1700TBW
Since Microcenter wont deliver to me (APO) even w/ verified address I get an error. I'm looking at Sabrent ($149.99) or SP ($139.99) from Amazon then slapping on a heatsink.
Theres also CFD I can get in 1-2days but it comes out like $175 w/ heatsink...

Check if you have MCE (Multi Core Enhancement) on.
The new versions of Prime95 uses AVX so of course its gonna get toasty.
If going from 48-50C to 40-43C just from MX-4 to MX-2 then theres probably some mounting issues, maybe its not on tight enough or do a proper criss-cross when tightening.
The quality improvements will come from the RTX, thats just hardware based. The performance/resources improvements is for the rest of the R/GTX series.
So before it was x264 Fast/Medium will get you really good quality for a lower bitrate. H264 you will get good performance but quality is...
I didnt really have much MH experience prior to playing Dauntless, it does have a lot of potential if they do it right. Slap on a lot of skins and badass looking weapons and armor and you'll have people coming back for more. A lot of people like myself when playing games look for something to...
Nexus 6P = Good on release, felt the same after battery replacement and full reformat.. Ran fine on 8.0. After 8.1 it went downhill, things got slower.. noticeably, i use snapchat but that was unbearable after updates. Horrid battery drain.
Pixel XL = Fast, Fast.. still fast... hated the one...
I mean you could configure it to your needs but the 8th gen is definitely worth it over the 7700HQ.
i7 7700HQ 4/8= Quad core, boosts to like 3.8GHz on single core but on all 4 cores you're probably around 3.6-3.7>GHz? maybe and HQ is not unlocked like HK.
i5 8300H 4/8 = Quad core, even this...
970M to 1060 is a big jump, 3GB isnt so bad if you're just sticking to 1080p gaming or if its like Bethesda games keep the mods at a minimum or normal textures.
tbh though, I would spend an extra $500 to jump to 8th gen. Not really a big fan of the 7700HQ. At least with $500 you get 6 cores...
I need another invite if anyone has one :/
I had an account for 3 year but last year i got busy and forgot to relogin for a few months xD.. sigh i had really good ratio/points.. ah well
If the backplate has thermal pads on the ram and vrms/backside then it will add better temps, if not then it will just help with sagging and such, but will depend mostly on how heavy the cooler is. On my MSI 970 gaming I don't have a backplate but doesn't sag, others have reported some minor...
Nice! hopefully that fixes your issue.
Anyway just an fyi, if you look at this particular device:
http://amzn.com/B00HF8K0O6
It pretty much uses the same Intel 7260HMW chip on a Gigabyte adapter but you can use Intel drivers and this can easily be swapped if you get another adapter...
If you have a smart phone try testing the wifi on it (with the same distance from your computer to the router) after that test it again right beside the router. If you get the same results then it may be the router thats holding you back. If you get an even higher results then it could mean the...
Well you're not just upgrading the CPU its the entire platform so everything from chipset, memory controller, pcie 3.0, native usb 3 as well as improved ssd/sata support etc.. so overall you will get some improvements. As for CPUs, you may or may not see some improvements in games or the same...
You have to double check your windows update settings, or tell it to only notify you of updates instead of downloading/auto update. Another thing to check is Geforce Experience if you installed it and make sure auto update is off on there as well, but on the other hand they would only update you...
Ah true, yeah I was just wondering since I've seen these cards idle real low and load not so bad so I was thinking the stock thermal paste isnt so bad. If you have quality paste I would go for it! I think I did that on many of my video cards in the past minus my MSI 770 Gaming since it had that...
