Thanks, That tool helped out alot, I ran the artifacts test and it was clean telling me the card was absolutely fine. I'm such a n00b I never thought to think it was my CPU's fan which was becoming noisy during games and it's the guy getting old and hot.
The fuzziness on my screen, turns...
I think it's crazy that now with AMD you can set up actual 2 x 4 core cpu's and 2 x 2 core gpu's to be ultimate. Mention that to someone 3 years ago he'd call you stupid.
I'm hoping for some ATI love from crytec. I don't think x1800 series is running the game as well as a 7800's. I just noticed this from a friend who has the card and has been playing the game too, shader seem to take less of a hit on his card. Anyone know of differences between ati and nvidia's...
Hey, I had a x1800xl since it was released (nov,05) and just this winter it has started getting unreasonably hot such as 70c. Well when it hits this temp or around it, my monitor image starts to get noise so i'm assuming the card is getting to hot and the fan isn't kicking in to do anything...
I have a HDMI --> DVI cabel and I'm wonder if my graphic card that claims Duel DVI-I,HDCP compatable,Video In can pick up the image from my PS3 so I can record from my computer or just play on my monitor without switching cables.
Is there some software I can use? I plugged it in and nothing...

The inq mentions other graphic cards having a tilted chip what are they? I think it looks hella cool by the way.
I have little doubt that it does not considering that the opterons are just like the FX's or 64's but on the Asus site http://usa.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=15&l3=143&model=576&modelmenu=1 they don't mention support. And in some other forum, some guy said that the VIA KT800 does not support...
This is just a guess but I'm thinking this demo does not support Duel Core AMD processors well.
I'm getting the same FPS as FallGuy's crossfire rig on a single x1800xl with +3400. Now that really makes no sense.
I think its awesome.
It should be better then the x1800xt for when games start to utilize the 16/48 Pixel shader solution.
I'm selling my x1800xl for one of these.
If anything to save money you crossfire a X1900XT.
Maybe when a cheaper version of the x1900 comes out (X1900 GTO?) that would even be a better choice.
Its programming is not that far off. It's alot better then a shit load of people expected. If you ever played morrowind you would understand. What seems to really rollercoaster performance is those damn speedtrees renders even on the 360. The game was made PC first and it being a port is a poor...
I've been looking around their site and can't seem to get any information.
My bought my card in December 16th of a retailer that ordered it for me and they take no blame on bad hardware.
Ever since I got it my card gave me a few artifacts that pop up for a second or two then gradually...
You can't even turn on AA with CCC for the ATI cards. Its just the way the engine was built I think even on the xbox 360 theres no AA.
Edit: I just tried it the first time I did it, it seemed to work but I was wrong.
The thing about physics is that it includes the chaos theory. Every PPU will generate the same projectile at the same object from the same location differently no matter what. In a game like cellfactor every one of those 2,000 objects(or other) have to be in sync/corrected on every computer...
Is it just me or does it look impossible for a game like cellfactor to work online? I'm sure the video they are showing around was made on lan and it does indeed look hella fun but will we ever be able to do this online even when every gamer has a PPU?
In the source engine the physics that...
This mobo will do dongle less xfire for the x1800 series correct?
There are talks of ati soon sending a driver for it but that it only works on the 3200 chipset.
I want to flash it for the sake of crossfire. Im fairly convinced that if I crossfire with a card that acts as XT I will have less of performance lost then crossfiring with a XL and XT combination.
Im waiting for the Crossfire edition of 1800xt 256mb or a crossfire edition XL but ati seems...
I have an Asus X1800XL and for what it´s worth when I installed it the first time with the cd it came with it screwed up a lot of things even though I cleaned my drivers. I then formatted and only installed Cat 6.2 beta and now all my glitches are gone.
This is what 3d marks is good for. Find someone with a simular rig compare your scores. And check if this error is screwing perfomance. CSS is a cheap game the source engine runs smooth on DX7 cards.

My best bet.
What card do you have now and how much ram do you hold? Changing/adding ram could also give you a good and cheaper perfomance boost.
I been looking for a topic on if anyone has done this before.
http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1008492&highlight=X1800XL+Flash
This topic was the only one I found. A guy stated that one incompatibility would be the memory size. ATI released a 256mb version of the X1800XT. I...
