I did move the AGP aperture up to 256 but that doesn't relate to the RAM on the card.
Yep, I am and I added the lastest hotfix, still no luck. More troubling is that Cap Viewer also tells me there is only 128MB on the card.
I found another user with this same problem, we both have 4X AGP...
This is a bit of a story but the short of it is after suspecting that my performance wasn't what it should be I ran 3DMark03 on this system. The score wasn't too bad, or too good either, but the strange thing was that my compare said the card only had 128MB of RAM on it.
Now everyone knows...
I had the same problem, even after I wiped and did a fresh install. The way I fixed it is pretty simple. Just go to the advanced settings and change the DPI, once it's fully changed, re-boot, and the new DPI settings are not chopped, Then I just set it back to Normal and every thing was fine.
It's local Turnkey stuff, one is a, I think, Win95 app for a local pawnshop, for example. Not my stuff but it is my headache from time to time.
The other part of it is that we do training, some companies are still using 98, and they require it to be delivered in 98. So, if it's courseware...
I'm out in Brandermill, on the "right side of da Rivah".
About the Ultra, the Tech at ATI said that Nvidia was willing to release uncertified drivers, which ATI would not do. Checking both the Nvidia site and various other sales sites, Best Buy for instance, they all list 98, ME, 2k...
Great to see Va is allive and well here!
Here is another update on my journey. Tech support at ATI and ASUS weren't any help, but gawd I hate to lose, and losing to a PC is just intolerable. So, I spent the day teaching myself some internals of the ATI drivers / specs and then did ye ole...
Well, I spent the day on the phone with ATI and ASUS, no luck. A level 3 tech at ATI did tell me that he had handled a call from a guy
with a P4T533, not a 533-C, and that he could get XP up but any use of a 3D app caused it to crash, with the settings turned down to the minium it crashed in 3...
I just got an X800XT today, pre-order from BestBuy, odds are it's going back any way, no Win98 support and sadly I have legacy stuff I need 98 for, but I would like to get it to run and see if it can convince me to find some other way to handle 98.
But, I can't get it to come up under XP...
