You "sealed them after cutting" implies that they were open at some point. The gases inside the pipe would have vented if open for any period of time, destroying the mechanism they employ to move the heat around.
Confused, I thought the X58M was at least as good as the RIIG.

I've been wondering when I'd see the matx X79 boards. I don't know if want to move from my RIIG/E5645 setup anytime soon, but if they're available, I likely won't be able to resist for long...
I think this case is as similar to the Q08 as the V600F is to the A05N. At first glance it looks like they might be based on the same chassis, but upon closer examination you start to see too many improvements for it to be an incremental upgrade.
You have to remember it was just a few short years ago that matx caught up with atx offerings. I think mitx is right on track to follow in its footsteps.
Actually, it looks like you're going to have to hack through a 3.5" bay to get a radiator to fit behind the front fans now, as it overhangs into that space now.
Lian Li has a knack for introducing one incredibly boneheaded design decision after another into their mitx/matx case designs.
The picture suggests the fan blows upwards, which might benefit those with PSUs directly over top their CPU, but the box art looks like it's meant to be oriented to blow down...
In either case, you could accomplish the same with a big shuriken (at a modest height penalty which TBH can't truly...
Buy a Silverstone Sugo 3/4, Sugo pack padded bag, and either a scythe big shuriken, or Antec Kuhler 620 to cool the CPU.
You may have to extend the tubes on the Kuhler a bit, in which case you can install a swiftech res to re-bleed.
The Sugo is constructed in a way that it holds onto the...
