Can someone measure the distance from the back of the mouse (where the palm rests) to the end of the forward button for each mouse?
I have long fingers and a lot of mice have the forward and back buttons too far back for me. I use a combination palm/claw grip.

The Audioengine A2s are a great small form factor speakers. They have received extremely positive reviews. Look it up.
You have to understand the limitations of a 2.75" driver. You're not going to get chest thumping bass at reference levels. I would not hesitate to buy the Audioengines...
OP isn't going to use a sub, so it works out well. Audioengine has a 30 day in home trial. Get them, and if they aren't what you're looking for, return them. It's that easy.

First off, I'd suggest you buy used from audiogon. You can get much more speaker for the price.
With that said, you have a lot of options for the price range. If you have room next to your desk, you can get a set of floor standing speakers. If you listen to music the most, then focus on...
All of the speakers you've mentioned are well regarded. The best thing you can do is to listen to each if possible, and make a decision based on what sounds good.....to you.
