Management Wants Internet Filtering - Options?

May want to look into Fortinet Web Filtering as well. You can snag their webfiltering service for relatively cheap depending on what your budget is.

    No sygate in vista?

What version of Sygate are you using? As you may know they've been bought out by Symantec and it is no longer called Sygate. Symantec came out with Symantec Sygate Enterprise Protection a few years ago which would allow the level of control you desire, but it does not support Vista. I believe...

Firmware update available from Seagate now!

I burned the ISO and it did not function. I mounted the ISO via daemon tools and the contents are README.txt and DriveDetect.exe and nothing else.

What SIM (Security Information Management) system do you use?

Figured I'd bump this thread and see if any new people can contribute.. We use netForensics for our SIM (http://www.netforensics.com/) where I am (govt) I'm currently starting to play around with OSSIM...seems pretty robust and I'm hoping to have it integrate with my home network. Anyone...

    Build for server/ESX box

I'd like to stay in the $500 range...a bit of overage isn't a concern though. For storage I was looking at 2x 500GB in RAID1...performance isn't a huge concern here, just the integrity of the data. Of course the potential for expanding is there too. I'll check out that PSU, thanks! :)

    Build for server/ESX box

Looking to build an ESX/VMware Server box to run a number of VM's for development work..Naturally I won't be purchasing any hardcore server hardware for this as it will be run in my basement on my own personal budget. Adequate memory is my main concern, I'm thinking of going with this setup...

    Network pics thread

Nothing too special here. The Fortigate FW policies are locked down very tightly allowing only explicit traffic in and out. And coming soon will be a Symantec Sygate Management Server which will provide host based IPS/IDS and firewall to all my hosts.

    HD4850 vs 9800GTX+

Having a tough time deciding between the two cards..both are in the same price range with relatively similar performance apparently. Both have their downsides with the 4850 running hot and the 9800 requiring a bit more in terms of power. The 9800 is about $10-15 cheaper..would I notice any...
