Ipad Air and PDF editing using a pen

I agree with those who say an iPad is not really good for this application. It is not a question of horse power, but it doesn't have a digitizing screen, and for heavy duty editing of PDFs, you want that big time. Light-duty editing of PDFs is fine using apps like GoodReader or PDF Expert...

External 2TB USB hdd to iPad mini?

There are several products, most work via wifi...you can get an external case and put that hard drive inside (depending on physical size of drive) http://www.amazon.com/Patriot-Gauntlet-Hard-drive-Enclosure-PCGTW25S/dp/B008KW61XK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1377687033&sr=8-1&keywords=patriot+node...

    Lenovo x220t touchpad

No, but I will try them next. I can't believe this laptop has become all but usable. Thanks for the link.

    Lenovo x220t touchpad

Unfortunately, I still cannot reliable type on this laptop. I'm not sure what has happened..it was not always like this, but I can't seem to disable this touchpad thing. I think I inadvertently press the right button. It is right below the space bar, so I think it is my right thumb which...

    Lenovo x220t touchpad

The touchpad and gone nuts. I can barely type a post without the cursor jumping around in some unpredictable way. I don't need a new laptop, frankly, but this is driving me nuts. I've always had bad luck with touchpads except on the MBA, but I'm a Windows guy and some I like to use the x220t...

Yes, your Macbook Pro is running too hot, and yes, it IS Apple's fault.

This is the fault of their engineering team. Engineers oversee the manufacturing, not just design. Engineers are involved in nearly every aspect of technical products.

    New Laptop for Grad School

What is your major? I worry about long-term use on a $500-700 laptop. I suggest a Lenovo X230t. Or just any Lenovo X or T.

Get a Windows 8 ultrabook with a screen digitizer and pen. BTW, that did read like a troll post.

x230t - to screen protect or not to screen protect?

No screen protector and no sleeve. It's pretty ugly....nothing on the outside to protect anyhow. ps...I have the x220t, not the x230t.

13" MBP for photography, which one?

    It's a great idea.

13" MBP for photography, which one?

For storage, consider a wifi drive. Something like an AirStash+ will let you use large SDXC cards and you can transfer images to/from a laptop or an iPad. I honestly would never consider doing any photo work on a 13-inch screen. One needs 27" or greater!

Build me an HTPC for 1080p Streaming and Gaming

Yes, this is not really a challenge. Even a simple i3 in that Intel NUC box I pointed to in the other thread can handle this. If you build an HTPC, then get a mobo that has HDMI ports...plug into your AV receiver...and set your software to bitstream the DD5.1 signal to your receiver and let...

Build me an HTPC for 1080p Streaming and Gaming

Agreed. That's why I posted as I did, so someone else could provide the info needed. in my HTPC, I use either IG or a fanless ATI card.

Build me an HTPC for 1080p Streaming and Gaming

Cool. Wired gigabit and get you 1080p with integrated graphics, which means for the movie part you don't need a gpu at all. I don't know that a $200 gpu will need to be loud...I'm not really a gamer. I have an HD6850 on my PC and it is super quiet, but this is not the HTPC. How much room do...
