The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

Picked up the M32P10 and it's honestly disappointing compared to the pg32uqxr (no idea about the pg32uqx).

It's got double the dimming zones but they appear to be slower with lots of haloing and it overly dimms around objects surrounded by black making it dimm the mouse cursor, etc. That is on standard dimming, high is way too aggressive. Perhaps they will update the firmware to make it better, but keep in mind this monitor has been out in China for over 6 months.

Mine came with 4 dead pixels and a piece of packaging or hair near the middle so it's going back anyway.

Got the pg32uqxr set up again and it's smooth as butter. Makes me feel much better about the purchase!

Interesting because the youtube video that's linked from reddit shows no halo'ing. Dimming the mouse cursor is also something the InnoCN does but it's honestly not even that distracting. Having a hugeass bloom around your mouse cursor is far more distracting IMO.

The Innocn FALD is really unrefined. It will use 2x the zones to illuminate stuff a PG32UQX does and they also abruptly flicker/on off and transition poorly. I don't really care for these black background test videos, games are far more demanding and it performs pretty mediocre.

Stuff light street lamps or specular highlights exhibit way more bloom on the 32" Innocn vs PG32UQX. I also think that overall pixel response time is far worse since its slow every where vs just black to white transitions like the PG32UQX. It looks like activating motion blur in games as soon as you pan the camera and its especially bad in something like Diablo 4.

In that video, it looks great for me as well. I'm seeing it in bg3. That video looks phenomenal with any mini led that I've tried though.

Innocn felt better than m32p10, but I had other issues with it so it had to be returned.

Yeah all these mini led monitors have their issues, I bought and returned an Acer X32FP before settling on the InnoCN. Glad you found one that suits your needs, the more options out there the better.

I spent a lot more time with both side by side and there is no comparison. On highlights where the PG32UQX showed minimal to no bloom the Innocn had +1-2 zone stairstep effect flickering bloom.

Well either I am now living in some alternate universe where the PG32UQX doesn't bloom or you bought a new unit that has a different FALD algorithm. Last I remember, the Neo G8 has less bloom than the PG32UQX due to being a VA panel + FALD behavior that's tuned to minimize bloom and you claimed the InnoCN has less bloom than the Neo G8 therefore logically it should have less bloom than the Asus. Now suddenly Asus is the best when it comes to bloom and the Neo G8 is the worst?
 
Thinking that the GP27U really could not be that bad I decided to give a try again before being returned. After having updated the firmware (from 1.3 to 1.3.1) it seems like, at least for now, the stability of the monitor and the strong will to kill every other monitor connected to the computer has gone down a bit. The default settings are unbelievably bad it seems, almost like CM want people to return this monitor, but after some serious fiddling in the menus things have improved. I actually managed to get it quite decent and found brightness that was previously no where to be found. Also managed to get it working decently in SDR with local dimming enabled, not perfect in any way but still much better than before. Currently do not have the X27 up and running side by side but will do some more comparisons later on. The anti glare coating is still noticeable worse though compared to the X27, however compared to most non OLED monitors, it is probably quite OK, just that the X27 happen to be really good in this regard (even compared to it's step down brother XB273K).

When you finally get it working as it should, it is actually really bright even in SDR with local dimming set to high. Probably even brighter than the X27 but will find out once I compare them side by side again. Even a a brightness junkie, I am actually contemplating turning the brightness down a bit, something that has not happened since I had the QN900B on the desk :D

Edit: The firmware is really strange, even with the exact same settings for User 1 and User 2, there is a noticable differenc in the image actually produced. Not sure if this is mentioned in the manual (never read that stuff) but still kind of weird.

Edit 2: Having read up a bit more on this, it seems like the firmware challanges has been a never ending story with this monitor (even more than I realized at first). What do we know about the input lag of the GP27U with and without local dimming enabled? Reviews seems to be conflicting, in part probably due to the massive firmware changes over time. Enabling local dimming usually means higher input lag but Rtings claim almost no difference in their review.

I believe RTings does NOT test local dimming enabled + HDR enabled. They only tested local dimming on/off in SDR only hence why there's no difference.

Question not about HDR though, as input lag in HDR on FALD is usually bad enough to rule it out anyway.

In SDR there shouldn't be much difference. In addition to RTings I believe TFTC also found this to be the case so that's two sources that claim so.

I can't really see a reason for it either but for TVs it is quite common that FALD is disabled/reduced in Game mode and to my understanding it is because of input lag so I imagine there is something to it.

My guess is because TV's do way more processing with FALD than a monitor would. Monitors need to minimize latency so the amount of processing on the FALD algorithm is going to be a lot less than a TV to begin with. TVs today have also gotten a lot better at having low input lag while still delivering good FALD processing too compared to years ago.

My Sony 950G adds so much latency with the FALD on that it's noticeable on Switch.
 
The firmware will be the downfall of the GP27U, when being the only monitor plugged in it works find, but as soon as you go multi monitor it is one problem after another. Even manage to send my desktop into a boot loop enough times for it to starting a self repair. I know DSC can be finicky but this is a hole other level. Apparently I am not the only one...

Well, the GP27U is now boxed up again. The straw that finally broke the camels back was my being a bit late to a Zoom call, not remembering I currently had the most unstable monitor since Hercules graphics was a thing as my main driver. Even though being on-time, when I was finally up an running after first getting the damn thing to wake from sleep and finding a signal, and then crash the entire computer, I had missed the first 7 minutes of the meeting. And this was with the latest firmware for a monitor released almost a year ago. That was it. Shame since the hardware of the GP27U is really nice.

Yes I compared all 3 side by side. The Neo G8 has the least bloom in bright scenes because it just doesn't get bright enough to bloom significantly. In dark content that isn't some HDR test video though its pretty terrible and way worse than the PG32UQX. I messed with all 3 extensively and by far the PG32UQX has the best FALD implementation of any current monitor. Its really straight forward, if it needs to be lit, that's what it does and does so fast and accurately. Everything else is sloppy/slow or applying some form of dumb algorithm in an attempt to suppress bloom which hurts performance else where.

I'm really happy with the PG (especially this later version that doesn't flicker zones on and off). It made me sell my C2 because the C2 is seriously lifeless in HDR in comparison and made me realize HDR on these OLED's isn't even HDR, just looks like SDR with slightly more brightness.

Also, did not realize it has fans (couldn't tell if had 1 or 2) until I heard them humming away. The monitor market for 32" is rage inducing lol. I'm back to my almost 6 year old Alienware ultrawide for a bit longer.

If you want a LCD with FALD for HDR then it is going to have fan(s).
 
im going to say pg32uqx isnt going to be dethroned anytime soon, at least another 2 years, asus is way ahead of its time
 
I think the new Asus 32“ 4K QD-OLED will be one of the most anticipated monitors next year 🤘

says Q1 or Q2. wonder how much it would cost. if it costs over $1500 I'd rather save my money and get a mini led for around $1k. I feel like this is the monitor alot of people want so I'm guessing it will cost at least $2k.
 
Can anyone who has the X32 FP answer a few KVM questions? I have been strongly considering it for WFH/Gaming and reviewers never cover the KVM in depth.

  1. Does the KVM work in general (switch display and USB up-stream source at once)?
  2. Can you map the KVM menu to one of the Shortcut/Quick action buttons?
  3. How do the two side USB ports work? One review mentioned they are not handled by the KVM and wanted to know do they have a static USB-B only up-stream or is the source setting simply separate?

I am open to other suggestions though as it is currently out of at all of the main retailers I've looked at (even the nearest Microcenter sadly).. USB-C w/ PD and KVM are a high priority for quality of life. I have been wanting to upgrade from a general 27" 4K for several years and with no "perfect option" in sight, the X32 FP appears to meet the criteria for "Good enough at a good enough price".

I get the impression that PG32UQXE has been sidelined due to the lack of updates to G-Sync Ultimate. From what I have read, PG32UQXE is the same as PG32UQXR with the exception of G-Sync Ultimate being swapped out for DP 2.1.

I have no doubts that this monitor will come out unlike the PG32UQXE, just not on the timeline that's specified by Asus. TFTCentral themselves have stated that the panel intended to be used in this monitor won't even enter mass production until Q2 2024. So somehow a panel that isn't scheduled for mass production until Q2 will find it's way into a monitor that's "supposedly" going to be released in Q1?

Innocn 32" 32M2V vs the Acer x32 FP. So far the Inncon destroys the X32 FP.

Better contrast, better screen coating, and a night and day difference with HDR. On top of all that the Acer x32fp's software is a disaster, HDR works 20% of the time if you're lucky

My X32FP has no problems whatsoever, I'm pretty sure that you haven't upgraded the firmware with the latest ones before throwing out this sentences.
My HDR works 100% of the time and it works great.

Innocn is well known to be unusable for big flickering when using it with VRR and HDR at the same time, you can't get a good 1000+ zones for such a cheap price ;)
