I am not sure what by the premise that the price are so far out of line (MSRP wise) are they not better than the previous generation Turin pricing ?The prices of cards are so far out of line and the effort to get one unless you are renting a room in a Best Buy or Micro Center is so hard do you expect to see a large drop by June 2021?
If recent launch become the norm, it will take a while for a newer generation launch to have lower price on the previous one, if that ever happen to start with, maybe the new one are not buyable, the last generation is somewhat rare as well and priced equal if not higher than in the past until they are all replaced by the new one without really a time when you can buy an older generation card at a very low price instead of the new lower end model.Don't prices only fall when there's a newer generation of cards that replace them as the best GPU to buy?
No they won't. Why would they be crying when they been using the cards for nearly a year but then. These post about early adopter crying are so dumb. Most people know what they are buying into. It is like something jealous poor people say to feel better about themselves. The prices of cards are so far out of line and the effort to get one unless you are renting a room in a Best Buy or Micro Center is so hard do you expect to see a large drop by June 2021?
No they don't. Only time they drop is cause the competition releases new hardware. Companies halt productions months before they drop new hardware and let the supply chain run out before the new cards are released normally. Retailers do t want to be stuck with dead stock that they don't make a huge profit each unit to sell off at a huge loss.Don't prices only fall when there's a newer generation of cards that replace them as the best GPU to buy?
It depend do you consider close to MSRP price to all the announced card to be a crap price per value ? Or do you mean if you cannot achieve to wait in line (virtually or in person) to get one and have to pay extra ?Hmm so if I follow, it'll be a crap time to buy a card (in terms of price per value) for, well, for the foreseeable future?

There is already card on sales at near MSRP pricing no ? If you achieve to get them, for example:

$699.99, exactly the announced 3080 MSRP
I will be stuck with MSRP regardless, probably no sales coming up until next Xmas. I certainly don't want to pay more now for a 2080TI that the less expensive 3070 can equal or beat. As other posters said, when the new gen comes in the prices can fall so at the worst when you can just grab a 3000 series on a whim the older cards should drop. I have a severe budget and have to stay behind but a 1070 is TOO far behind. The question is how soon will they get restocked? AFAIK nothing near MSRP for 3080 has been in stock for over a month online looking at nowinstock alerts.
With yet another unpaid for Stimulus bill, out of thin air accounting by Feds -> I expect the dollar value to go even further down compared to other currencies. So for stuff made overseas, prices will go up. Possibly Nvidia 2020 line up will be replaced except for something like the 3090 which has already a very high mark up.
I'm still looking for an Rx 580 replacement.... This might be the end of my PC gaming.
Today at 11:17 AM the $699 founder edition was at bestbuy.com according to one of the bot I follow (not sure how reliable they are), that one as well:The question is how soon will they get restocked? I can't speak on the 3070, but keep in mind your PSU. I have a 650W right now and apparently the 3080 requires a 750W. So I have to roll that into my GPU budget as well. =/Thanks you, they were both gone when I checked but $600.00 is my top budget price, hoping for a Best Buy $499.00 3070 FE

Sell it to someone here, I'm sure someone will cover fees shipping and at least buy you lunch. Help a fellow forum member outI just got an MSI 3070 Trio X for less than $700. I am thinking to bring it back to the store though. I am not sure it is worth it for the money over my 1080ti. I guess I could sell the 1080ti for $350 to $400. But is 30-40% increase in speed worth it for $350? I am not sure. $500 is a much more appealing price for 3070. I would love to find a 3080 for $700.
