What's this?

That won't confuse people (435, 430). That's like nVidia naming the pascal Titan the Titan X. Oh waaiiit....

The 490 is supposed to be Vega right?

There have been several leaks that claim that, yes.

I hope they don't release all these little cards, seeing as they're pretty pointless with iGPUs as competent as they're become.

I wouldn't get too exited, I think those R5, R7 and R9 400-series card is just rebranded 300-series cards for pre-built OEM PCs, possibly those are only aimed for the asian market.

My reason for thinking so is that the official word from AMD is that they've done away with the R9, R7, R5 name on new cards, had those been named RX as well it would have been a whole other ballgame.
Why I think it is rebranded cards for pre-built OEM PCs, the companies selling those PCs would want something new for this years line-up, can't put the same cards in this years line-up as last years line-up, must have something new to fool the customer to think it is an upgrade or won't sell any new PCs (yes I know I'm cynical but it's not like it hasn't happened before).

M485 but no R/RX 485? Like already mentioned, most of us are the most interested to see what the 490 can do. Maybe competition for a 1070?

We saw this with 490 quite a while ago here...

The 2017 release of Vega is all a ruse to fool Nvidia thinking they will be boss for the remainder of 2016 - little do they know that Vega cards are being packaged up now, ready to ship for the Holiday buying season to spoil Nvidia's Christmas of all Christmas's. ;)

Man, I really wish this was true -- if only so that I can get a GTX 1080 Ti/discounted Pascal Titan X. But, it looks like Q1/Q2 2017 will see Vega.

Looks like your gpu setup is rather potent, only a Titan X with Pascal would only be a true upgrade - so maybe best to wait and enjoy the games that play well with your dual core card.

I haven't updated my sig; I'm actually using 2x AIB GTX 980 Ti in SLI atm. But both my previous card and the current cards are very strong, yes; with the current setup being a bit stronger for 4K usage.

They do laugh all the way to the bank tho. So much that other sites are becoming the same. Guru3d etc.

For some reason we all missed the Vega launch in October too ;)

WCCFTECH Choo Choo train is talking about a hard launch for the the RX 490 in December.

I didn't see substance in the article to warrant clicking it though.

The only thing of substance you need to know is that there has been a shipment 'c99' via Zaubua which is not identified and appears to be twice the price of the RX480. This is either a cut vega10 or a dual p10.

I'm hoping December. If not I'm jumping ship. Tired of AMD not being able to deliver to the high-end.

Looks more and more like dual Polaris isn't a joke in a bad taste

How about the new Polaris 10 professional line of cards? The Professional version of the Nano? I doubt a dual version Polaris card will be out in December from AMD - most newer games would not take advantage of it and it would not fare well in the end.

Great point, they have been working on that VSSD stuff over this year. You may be on the money with that one, its much more likely than a dual or vega cut card. But I would've expected to see firegl or similar in that shipment line though.
