HOT FIRE! Acer Predator x34 (GSYNC) - Refurbished - $729.99 SHIPPED

as for the square trade warranty ... i called them twice yesterday and both times they said yes .
it did sound like i was talking to someone over seas .
told them what website i was getting it from and they didn't even seem to care ?
from reading their terms it looks like they don't warranty refurbished items ( usually don't have warranty) , but these are re-certified that carry a 90 day warranty.
was told that when i received it i had 30 days to place coverage on it .

Re certified and refurbished are essentially the same thing.

Purchased one of these monitors and it came yesterday. It overclocked to 100 Hz with no problems. There are no dead pixels and BLB as well as IPS glow are as expected. Also, there were minimal signs of prior use. Physically, the monitor looks just fine and it came in a large brown box. Lastly, like others have said before, it comes with HDMI, USB, and DP cables. It does not come with the wall mount adapter.

Haven't had too much time to extensively test it, but here are the issues I found.

Screen uniformity (the far left side of the screen is a tad bit more yellow than the right side when pulling up an all-white background)

Coil whine (There is slight, high-pitched whine at 100 Hz with white backgrounds. The issues goes away if not overclocked).

Scan lines (Didn't notice any scan lines with the few games I tested. I haven't tried the pendulum demo. The one time I did get scan lines was when I changed the overclock to 95 Hz to see if that would affect the coil whine (it didn't). However, after a hard reset, I issue went away)

Called SquareTrade about this monitor and told them the website as well. They said they would not cover it.

those two might drive me crazy... was asking about yellow color in post #60. I found out this panel isn't made by AUO and that made me excited... hearing this really sucks.

Man I'm very tempted to return my Dell 34W to get this but its always OOS and I have no luck getting it when it does come back in stock. Maybe that is a good thing.

I have no yellow tint on mine. My previous LG ultrawide didn't have a tint either. Uniformity will be a lottery on any LCD but the AUO panels seem to have some widespread problem with it judging from the volume of complaints.

Looks like a good deal to me. Pretty tempting except:

A) I'm holding out till Nvidia and AMD release their new die-shrunk vid cards and

B) I'd prefer to get something widescreen and a bit bigger (30" or more).

Still, that monitor is pretty awesome. Friendlier to single-gpu setups vs 4k-ish monitors, 144Hz 4ms and gsync, USB 3.0 hub, and tilt/swivel? That's an awful lot of bulletpoints checked off for $400.

I have really been wanting to go 1440p Gsync monitor for a while now. Finding this deal plus it being an IPS monitor was too tempting to pass up. I'll update when it comes

Another poster posted above that they contacted SquareTrade regarding this monitor however they were told they wouldnt cover it. The post is about halfway up on this page.

Looks like we have conflicting results. Regardless, it's worth looking into if you get to snag one of these monitors.

Ya it wasnt a payment thing either bc the payment went completely through on my card not even pending. I tried to call them but their phone is rolling straight to VM currently.

Oddly enough I just got through to their support line and they said my order was received, accepted, and should ship by tomorrow. Strange that they cancelled yours, I would definitely try calling back.

I ordered on the 16th as well, had it in the cart all day and finally placed the order in the evening. I just called them, they said it was received and will ship within 24 hours.

I just spoke to support they said that they ran out of stock and thats why mine was cancelled.. they said they might have stock in a few days.... I asked him why people that ordered after me are going to receive monitors and he was also puzzled about this.

Great support for sure lol

Sucks dude, but if there is 1 thing we can all be sure of is there will be more of these popping up. Overclock forums are pouring in with people still returning theirs.

Ya I hope all of you all get your monitors also. I spoke to the manager asia and she also did not understand how anyone else is getting monitors. Either way they said they should have more in a few days.

She said their system allows you to order monitors even if they dont have stock and they just eventually cancel them and they charge as soon as its ordered not when it ships.

Picked it up , weak shipping job , top is all but open , I can reach in and grab the panel . When I get off work I'm going to record unboxing

Haha WOW...nice.

I'm gonna go ahead and set my expectations to ULTRA LOW mode for this thing so that if it actually ends up being decent I will be thoroughly surprised.

If it's anything but spectacular I will be returning mine, for 730 bucks it better be great..I know it's a factory refurb, but should be up to new standards pretty much I would expect. I will get the new Asus ultrawide if this one turns out to be a dud. When are those going to be for sale anyone know?

Let us know as soon as you have the unboxing video available!

Why are they returning theirs? I can't find the overclock thread.

Looks like one of the loose cords really banged up the panel. Gotta be disappointing.

guess I'll let you guys know how returning it goes . and yea i was happy with it , looked sweet when i put it on the desk , then bam POWER ON.

Acer sucks so bad. That was a pathetic attempt at packaging.

Given the weight/size probably costs a good amount to ship this thing wonder why they then skimp out on the packaging. Surely ends up costing them more in the end.

Watching the video, that was a terrible packing job. At least put the cables in a bag and tape to the back so it isn't all loose. Like x3sphere said why skimp on packaging as one bad panel due to shipping is enough for better packaging for 50 monitors.

Damn that absolutely blows. Good luck with the return. Are you trying to get warranty service on it or you just want your money back?

I got mine and the packaging was terrible. Mine came in fine and aesthetic damage or anything. However, mine doesn't like to go over 90fps. Wont let me oclock to 100 and tried 95 and it flickers. Minimal BLB; no dead pixels I noticed. Not sure if I want to keep it.

Just received mine as well and the packaging on this was horrible, no screen protection at all....all the cables (power, hmdi, DP, and power brick) came loose....they weren't in any box at all and just moved around during shipping. How can they think this is OK packaging? Turned on the screen and its just as bad as the pics above and a huge scratch down the center of the screen. Too late to call support, but this will be going back to ACER in TX tomorrow....worse packing I have ever seen on a monitor....

Funny note.....they send a piece of paper saying "Tell us how we did" 1 to 5 stars......................................................NEGATIVE 5 stars!!!!!!

Holy shit, I am now afraid! hmm, maybe I should just cancel before they ship and just order a new one, or the asus that just came out (coming out), wtf, how could they ship such high value/fragile items so horribly!

Are these "guaranteed" to do 100hz? I know they advertise it, I would imagine they should all do 100hz with no issue. Does yours have the wine others have reported?

This is the same monitor that required a firmware upgrade right?

Sorry everyone seems to be suffering such a bad consumer experience....

no they are not advertise to guarantee 100 overclock. I dont hear any coil whine or buzzing @ 90. I can't tell on 100 or 95 since the monitor wont let me. Kind of disappointed. My swift 27 79Q overclocks 165 just fine.

Not much difference between 90 and 100 Hz honestly. If there's no light bleed or dead pixels, keep it.
